  2. I guess nobody has any info.?
  3. Did you collect the mussels yourself. What did you catch the plaice on. To be honest I have only bait fished once or twice and never caught anything from the shore/rocks. Mainly go spinning/lure fishing. Any advice ? Thanks
  4. Thanks for the info Spanner
  5. Thanks Norrie. Sorry for the little nudge!
  6. Has anybody fished or have any info on this area. Will be staying at Clachtoll Bay later in the year. Many thanks
  7. As said I thought they tried to fit too much in and occasionally it was bordering on being a bit patronising. On the whole though it was good. The problem is that if they gave each section of the coast the attention it deserved it would take years to show! Looking forward to when they get up to the west coast of Scotland. Must look out for some good marks!?
  8. And THAT is what angling is all about.!! Congrats.
  9. Just thought I would bring this on to page 1 again in case anybody has any info. Thanks
  10. Norrie Just wondering if you had a chance to talk to your friend?
  11. Many thanks Norrie. That would be great!
  12. Spanner you have mail....... Will be heading north later in the year. Does anybody have info ie rock/shor marks, what can be caught etc for the area north of Lochinver. It's a long drive from down here just to blank....again.

  14. Thanks Spanner. We're looking for..... better not narrow it down too much!! Any vacancies before end of October, and you did say the fishing was good?
  15. Sorry, not really a fishing topic but somebody on here said they had a cottage to rent somewhere up near Gruinard Bay. I feel terrible both for not remembering who it was and for not making a note of it. Please can you let me know of this (and any others by the shore in that neck of the woods) Many thanks Sarah
  16. Try the Anglesey sea fishing site. Great bunch of really helpful folk www.fishing4u.co.uk
  17. Sticklebacks take chunks out of fish don't they, or is that newts I'm thinking abou. I am sure they will eat the tadpoles though. We'e had a weather loach in the pond for about 20 years. It orig came from a coldwater tank we "stocked" the pond with. It was surprising how long the black moors lived. Probably about 2-3 years. We've been feeding once a day for several weeks now. It's only on the very coldest days that they don't take much.
  18. Thought a prawn net had a pointed edge the whole thing being kinda teardrop shaped. Isn't it a shrimp net that has the straight edge. Used to have prawn suppers from the prawns we caught at Twyn-hir many moons ago! Lots of good big eating crabs too.
  19. There has been a sperm whale around Skye recently, was at Duibeag this afternoon. Anybody seen it? (re Wild Skye website)
  20. Any info on spinning would be useful..... Just thought I would get you up to the top again Big Troot!!
  21. Some body will answer you soon. They know a great deal about the West Coast on here. Would like to think they are all out fishing but suspect they are at the local hostlry!
  22. dachshund, no decision made on the cottage as yet. This is the normal routine with my husband. He suggests an area, I do all the research re houses, countryside etc then he suggests another area. The latest one is Devon. In a week or two we should have a shortlist of accom. scattered around the country. Anything not followed up is kept on file for future use!
  23. Sorry, it's easier if I just give you the forum index address www.fishing4u.co.uk/phpbb
  24. Also have a look at the Anglesey Sea Fishing web site and forum. The web site is www.fishing4u.co.uk add /phpbb for the forum index. Very helpfull bunch.
