  1. ------------- no matter - have found their Ebay Listing.
  2. Thanks for the info David. I've checked their site but can't find the Duo on there and tried searching - have I missed it?
  3. Nice writeup. Would like to see one in the flesh. The inner case, is that for a tackle box or reel? I like the fact that you can change some of the sections for different class weights. 10-20lb and 20-30lb would be ideal for me for general boat fishing in good tide. How much lead do you think the 20-30lb sections could take before it felt too heavy? My solid c 10-20lb will take about 8 ounces before it feels over loaded. How much does it all weigh?
  4. Hi Mike The negative comments came about due to an everything is rosy review of the Bic. Since being on this board you have been singing the praises of your Bics without placing comments in context - only now you are starting to do so. One Bic owner on this thread mentioned that they won't head out in more than a F3 - thats the type of info which will be useful to a potential purchaser. For what its worth I nearly bought a BIC Bilbao myself when I first started kayak fishing and I think Simon Everett approached BIC for a kayak for the Boat Fishing Monthly kayak project - they didn't oblige, Ocean Kayak were more foreward thinking and provided a Prowler 13 I don't agree with your comments about aethetics and silly names being the main differences between models. Again this kind of information serves to confuse the newcomer to the sport. A couples of inches difference in beam and a few feet in length can make a difference to the performance in a kayak - hull shape, weight, and volume will play a part too. To call another member a prat and then go on to say lets be nice can we talk about something else just doesn't sound right.
  5. I bought a dry suit from them a couple of years ago. I joined the US equivalent of the BCU and got a discount off the suit. Got hit for taxes though.
  6. Had one on my Caper. Used it quite a few times - without it I found the Caper hard work against wind and tide. Now paddle something more efficient & more suitable for where I paddle so sold the motor and the Caper.
  7. I bought one of these - they're waterproof take up virtually no space and weigh next to nothing - perfect for the yak.
  8. I couldn't leave it alone. I can't seperate these parts.
  9. I think I've had mine apart again. Its in the shed at the moment. I'll take a look tomorrow.
  10. Thats a good question. The two parts of the x-frame lock together so well I'd forgotten it could be broken down into two pieces. Assembly instructions here: http://www.c-tug.com/c-productdetails.php
  11. Does KFS now ship to the UK? Recommend this company. They don't sell those models but do have a few others. http://www.kayakfishinggear.com/index.asp?...amp;Category=18
  12. How about a wireless transducer/transponder using similar technology to your Smartcast series. Thats one less cable to worry about and some weight saved.

    Rudders

Paddle a longer kayak in strong wind - you'll soon find their purpose.

    Rudders

Given the prices of rudders, there must be a gap in the market for a cheaper 3rdparty rudder kit which would fit the popular OK models. All the rudder kits I've seen are well over £100.
  15. No one has been nasty & no one has said it's a rubbish kayak. You have had your Bilbaos on the water since last summer and it is only last month you first fished from one. It could well be that you have not yet found the limits of this kayak. If you came along on some of the trips I make I feel you soon would. I haven't paddled your craft. That is my opinion, this is an internet forum.
  16. Crap drawing? Its excellent. Andrew can we have one of these please?
  17. Hi Volusian A couple of questions I hope you don't mind answering. Is there a tankwell for a crate? Is there a suitable area where a fishfinder can be mounted? How easy do you think it would be to rig up an anchor trolley on this kayak - are there existing fittings which can be used? You mentioned its suitable for touring does that include on the sea as well and what daily mileage do you think you could average in light conditions? Would camping gear fit inside the hull? How did it fair going against the current up river and against the tide in wind. The answers to these questions are in part what I would look for in a review if I were choosing a kayak. I'm not trying to put you on the spot. I know of a few newcomers who have had read 10/10 reviews like this only to go on and choose the wrong kayak for their needs. I'm sure its a great kayak for what its designed for. Its short length would make for easy storage like the Mini X.
  18. The ability to store rods in the hull via the center console would be a welcome feature for me. Not sure about the fishfinder wave deflector. Look forward to reading more about this model.
  19. For those with strap problems have you followed the strap lacing guide. I can see how the strap wouldn't work if its not laced correctly. After the strap is threaded down underneath the buckle I pull very hard on the strap and when tension is set close the buckle. Its tight enough to the point where I can 'ping' the strap with my finger and the trolley stays put http://www.c-tug.com/c-lacing.php
  20. Must be quite unnerving quietly fishing away when a horn blasts through the peace and thousands of gallons of water head your way!!!
  21. Thanks for that Newt. As Richi mentions what you describe are anchor trolleys we fit to the side of a kayak enabling us to position the anchor line. The cleats we use are smaller than the one you use on your boat being designed for sailing dingys and should be readily in our local chandlers. Good point about the quick release setup - I've started using one myself although try to hook up to a pot buoy if theres one in the area.
  22. The C-tug is a good trolley as its easy to load by yourself, the trolley quickly collapses and it can take the weight of a fully laden sit on top. Providing the kayak is not overloaded it copes with sand ok. For me its main shortcoming is its weight but if your not touring thats not much of an issue. You may also wish to consider the Wheeleez trolleys although it may cost more to ship one over here. http://www.wheeleez.com/canoe-kayak-cart.php
  23. Just spotted this on another forum. I wonder if its destined for UK waters. http://forum.kayak4fish.com/viewtopic.php?p=44235
  24. A newcomer could read that review and think its suitable for fishing the UK coastline.
