  2. main dealer is in inverness, just spoken to solicitor and she feels they called me last night updating me on the situation in the hope i would agree with them and accept the car, chancing there hand if you like. she is now writting a nasty letter asking why they didnt have the decency to make all correspondance through her as requested, and that we will now be upping our efforts of pursueal press/courts.
  3. ok just been on the phone to jeep uk, they basically said we can assist you in putting pressure on the garage to speed up repair or if you are not happy with the garages service but if you are rejecting the car then your greivance is with them. i explained that i suspected as much but thought they as the manufacturer would like to know before i went to press/court, they didnt seem to concerned anymore ideas folks?
  4. thanks norrie, that the problem if i do get the car back, i will never be happy with it now. Newt, i think your right mate, we call them a plug over here, and im sure ive got one!
  5. ill check the serial number also thanks pete, and i wont be buying american again. what atttracted me was the level of spec for your money, that doesnt mean much at the moment though!
  6. i told the finace company of all the problems very clearly in a letter and stated i was refusing the car, they sent me a letter of receipt then nothing, i would certainly go to press about it but where do i start who do i contact? they have really pi***d me off and i feel like i have been had, im only 28 and with a mortgage to pay and a car i want what i am paying for, its tight enough paying for it all as it is without not even getting the use of it.
  7. sorry when i say truck i mean a 4x4 its a jeep cherokee. you have a point about the replacing parts though, when the engine blew and it wasnt running right afterwards they blamed sensors and the 3rd time they said they upgraded the software i find this odd as if it had a new engine youd think the software would have been updated at the time?
  8. Hi rabbit thanks for the advice, the truck has a three year warranty so all work is being repaired under this, i wasnt entirely happy with the new engine idea when the first on blew up, but i went along with it only for it to go back to the garage a further 3 times. my father suggested tonight i contact the manufacturar also, so i will be doing that tomorrow. the main thing is the inconveniance its causing, i have 3 dogs and bought a truck to transport them, and as i do a lot of shooting and fishing and work with my dogs its really hampering my lifestyle. i also took out some finance on the truck and have been in touch with them, so not only do i have no truck but i am paying for the privalage of having no truck
  9. ok , hopefully someone on here will be in the motor trade or a legal whizz and can advise me on my perdiciment. i bought a truck 8 months ago, it was only 10 months old from the main dealer with 10000 miles on it, and at 17000 miles the engine blew up and it had to go back to the garage. It came back to me and wasnt running right, loosing power and smoking badly, it has snce been in the garage twice and still no better. 4 weeks ago it got taken back to the garage and it has been there since, awaiting now a new turbo. i have had the truck for 8 months and in that time it has been in the garage being repaired for a total of nearly 4 months. As im sure you can understand i am far from happy with this, and i have told the garage i am rejecting the car as it is not fit for the purpose it was intended for etc etc and have had a solicitor write a letter stating so and asking for a full refund. tonight i got a call from the garage saying the new turbo has still not arrived and wont be in for another 2 weeks, but they will fit a turbo of a new truck to save me the wait. i explained to them that i was rejecting the truck and that they should speak to my solicitor, and he explained that he was just doing what the manager had asked of him. is there anything more i can do, i feel totally shafted on this as it wasnt an old banger and to me it was a lot of money, and i have lost all confidence in the car. And i feel i will have trouble re-selling it now with all the problems i have had with it?
