  1. --> QUOTE(Norm B @ Nov 10 2006, 03:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Probably be alright on a cookery programme though. Pukka Norm
  2. Bog standard bloodknot Grant, my own fault 4 being lazy, the other one was a dodgy crimp on some traces I made at home a while ago. Never had that problem before though, last time boated 4 out of 4 eels with no worries, but a strong tide seriously increases the tackle tension. Good effort on the uni knot tip, will deffo heed that advice Scott Cheeky Felt like a real good un Elton, don't want to guestimate size, but..........................BIG! The air in Swange Bay was blue last night, theres no way I could ever host a fishing program Scott
  3. Was using J's Grant, two snap off's due to dodgey knotage , stacks of tide and a big angry eel don't mix very well. Scott
  4. Went out on the boat last night from 6.30 to 10.30 or there abouts. 18mtrs of water, strong flood tide, mackie and squid baits on 8/0's to 100lb traces. 2lb of lead barely holding the bottom, first fish came to the boat after 10 minutes for my mate, conger guestimated at 35lb, T barred at the gunnel. I had a shocker of a night, 5 bites and 5 hook up's and 5 dropped fish , all felt like good fish of similar size 30-40lb, with the second lost fish going off like a rocket, stripping line as I got it mid-water, deffo an eel and deffo the biggest one I've hooked yet , got the right hump and had a sad on all night. But hey ho! Roll on next time Scott
  5. Good on ya Steve, To far for me to come to your neck of the woods, but would be happy to attend/organise something down my way if anyone else in the Dorset/Hampshire area is up for it??? Scott

    Tip Rings

I've always used the hot melt glue, seems to hold fine and easy to remove the old tip ring when it needs replaceing again Scott
  8. If you don't know then tell her to ask her Mum, as we all know women know everything!!!! Scott
  9. Not sure that broom handles and two sets of cod feathers are allowed, but you can always ask
  10. He may have been trying to make the virgin/spaceship one project more affordable to your average man in the street Scott

  12. How did you deal with them challenging?
  13. Ditto Mike, Some people get stupidly competitive, which isn't a nice quality in a person. Scott
  14. Scotland in the Quarter finals? Meanwhile on planet earth....................................................................
  15. A few of the smaller commercial guys round our way make extra cash by dragging for ragworms, can't see them taking too kindly to it if they suggest such a ridiculous proposal down here. Scott
  16. You to mate, Good choice of mark, probably head that way, had a look up there a couple of weeks ago and there were a fair few PBSBAC boats drifting around the upper reaches. Look forward to the report , we're heading out tonight for the Whitehouse Grounds, try to get the first Ray of the year aboard, some big blondes (rays ) about if you can sniff them out. Scott
  17. Good luck Zzippy, thinks theres a few about, might try myself Sunday for a couple of hours, Saturdays weather looks a bit pants. Will you be trying the old Poole Harbour float rig? Or sticking on the bottom? Scott
  18. Maybe the file is too big, or maybe try hardwiring it with the USB cable?
  19. Blardy blah..... Is that a royal 'we' regarding the business? Thought you were the monkey not the organ grinder? Would you still be so full of cotempt if the trawlers hit you magical 'well managed fishery' and screwed it up......doubt it, then all your commercial clap trap will come round and bite you on the arse.
  20. Think we've probably all been guilty of that over the years, giving a fish a few extra pounds, or a few extra inches (ooo errr) Goes with the territory of being an angler Scott
  21. Great catch for sure, well done. I'd give it 35lb tops though. Scott
  22. Put me down for a couple!
  23. Good one Andrew Bayliss was flying all weekend, but never thought he'd bag the win, but he is a quality rider as his record shows. Can't see there being much difference next season with the introduction of the 800cc machines, nothing much between lap times compared to the 990's, most riders have said you could never get 100% out of the bigger bikes as they are just too fiesty. The Ilmor is a strange looking bike, and the noise.............jezzzz almost makes your ears bleed! It's got a real whine to it. Roll on next season Scott
