No, just making a point that waters well out of the way are more prone to this sort of activity than waters where the owner lives nearby or that have regular anglers on them are more secure. Any waters that have a Trout farm on them are very secure, how many waters that just have a few wild trout in them have any security? If you were planning to take fish home, which water would you choose? Scott.

As many of these people come from countrys where taking fish for the table is normal practise, its obvious that they will continue that when they arive here. Walk around a big fish market and see how many Pike, Bream, Carp etc are for sale. As the situation will get worse we will find in years to come that the only waters worth fishing are the heavily guarded day ticket waters (i.e carp puddles) because all the quiet waters that are out of view will have had their stock taken for the table. Its not so much the night fishing thats the problem its camping overnight. You can get away with it on most of the big lakes on national trust land, they dont actually allow camping but turn a blind eye to people night fishing. The only lake you will struggle on is Windermere as so much of the bank is private. The other option is most of the big lakes all have proper campsites with lake access. Scott

Not sure about the rules down there so I cant help on that. The damaging the Pike bit I might be able to help. If you are say using a very strong braid and you hook a pike while trolling, if your clutch is set not to give line, your rod should cushion any effect. I dont think it is possible to cause much damage with a rod, I would think the first casualty in this situation would be your rod, but if you are still worried about this set your clutch to give line and dont start bullying the fish till you have stopped. No its the pole part thats damaged, the net thread is ok. There seems to be a brass (posibly) part with a female thread that is riveted to the pole, if I drill out the rivet I can remove the end, if there anywhere I can get a replacement part? Scott.

Im looking for an airbrush & compressor, I have no idea what I should be looking for, but what I've seen I need one that will paint lines between 1/4 and 1 1/2 inches or there abouts, any help would be very welcome. Scott.

According to what i've read, they work as follows: Water is pumped into the bottom of a tube (pumped downwards) this has the effect of causing the media to lift and move about in the stream of water (hence the fluid bed bit) as the media is in constant motion it tends not to get clogged up. The media used is normally coral sand which is full of tiny craters that become home to the bacteria any dead bacteria is soon knocked off, also the effect of thousands of bits of coral grinding against each other has the effect of breaking down and large bits of waste that may have came through your pump, idealy your pump should have a decent filter to prevent the coral becoming blocked, its is preferable to have the filter on the return side of the pump (and main filter). Depending on who you believe using this type of filter can/will enhance water quality and allow higher stocking and/or feeding levels than normal. Wher I used to work we had fluid bed dryers for drying large amounts of powder so im quite interested in using this for a pond. The key seems to be able to keep the media in a fluid state and the better models have a by-pass line so you can use a more powerful pump and by using the by-pass keep the bed moving without forcing the water through so quickly that it just emptys your filter.
