  1. depends on how far you are willing to travel.
  2. nash bullet is a great main line and hooklink material. very robust
  3. crushed hemp especially works well i conjunction with a dynamite stick. very active in the water
  4. these days i tend to get a angling partner to help as it is more fun. we tend to get in a crate of beer and have a session say 10-15kilos of dry mix. will take you a good few hours (especially if the beers are consumed quickly as they generally are) but it is best to do it this way as you do not have to keep setting up all the gear for a few kilos. therefore the more you roll the better the kilo per hour ratio will be. honestly it aint that bad especially if you follow the approach out lined.
  5. Not forgetting the loss of use of one hand (or both) for a while as the tendons and muscles shrink back to origanal size after all that sqeezing. i have also seen the rewards from making my own baits, also it is very rewarding catching carp especially on a bait constructed by yourself.
  6. it would have to be source as it always seems to catch and solars top banana.
  7. yes if you decide to make your own base mix even more savings will be made. its just the matter if you can be bothered as it can be boring and time consuming making baits.
  8. pepperami is the bait for some winter carp
  9. i have always made my own baits and it is alot cheaper as long as you do not take into account the time it takes. take for instense the source boilies a 10kilo base mix bucket of this will cost you around £55 and to this one pot of liquid source £7 and eggs from this you can make around 15kilos of boilies which would cost you around £120 pounds at full retail. once the gear is bought you make more of a saving the more you make.

    norfolk pike

thanks alot for the advice lads ill get cracking although these easterlies may put me off for a while as there is not alot of places to hide from it on the yare.
  11. im after a 20lb plus pike as i live in norfolk this is my target area. i hear the Yare is worth a go any info on where to fish on this river, what baits tactics etc.
  12. or you can fish crushed hemp in your bags
  13. if the source boilie is being pumped into the lake it would be very diffecult for you to apply a bait in the fishery as the cost would be massive. if you fancy doing some time on the lake you should think of getting together with a few others therefore cutting the cost of baiting. a new bait added in quantity would ween the fish off the source a little and as less people will be using the bait they would see it as safe. if this is not possible i would agree with the other comments of jumping on the source band wagon and looking more at application and location.
  14. sorry make that more than two rods
  15. 3 gives you more options for casting around etc but the novelty wears off after a while and you end up setting 3 traps and wishing for a 4th rod!!! dont forget to buy yourself an second rod licence to allow you to fish more than one rod
  16. Hello there mate i can let you know that there is a head of carp in the ocean pit with some very large although it is all kept a little bit secret, its worth a go if you dont mind blanking too much. Your best bet is prob to try and stumble into some of the anglers on there and see what you can get out of them, and also get a decent pair of walking boots.
