  1. It's not my job to explain what he did wrong. He has had his day in court, more than one actually, and he has been found guilty. Just like anyone else who breaks the law and is found guilty he suffers the consequences. There is something deeply ironic and a tad hypocritical about him becoming an asylum seeker though. Life in his own country has become difficult for him (his own fault) so now he want's to go to another country because his life should be better. A great idea when it suits him.
  2. Speaking of snowflakes https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/tommy-robinson-trump-asylum-us-infowars-alex-jones-contempt-case-a8996166.html?fbclid=IwAR0jFe0UT3jUCe_a-g2cnBoDq5W_uHDzUEMvFf5nhfy_vKI-u3cqk6okvns Seems he want's to become an immigrant?
  3. Yes, I remember Obama's quote. Seems it was uncannily accurate. Relying on Trump is a bit like relying on winning the lottery to provide a pension.
  4. This makes more sense than a lot I have heard recently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb2FzeEjHeo
  5. Steve All the very best on yor retirement. It is well earned and I hope you and Peggy enjoy what is to come. Dave
  6. If you don't believe that there is any difference between insurance based medicine and the NHS you are deluded, or know nothing about insurance based medicine. I have no problem with a private health care system, as long as it is done properly and that does not mean insurance based as in the American system. That is what Farage was referring to. We have a private system in France. in the past few months I have had 4 MRI scans, having a 5th next week. Cost to me nothing, although I pay Social security contributions in the same way as in the UK. Under the American system each MRI would have cost several thousand dollars Under the NHS you would probably still be waiting for your first one.(My brother inlaw was told he needed an urgent MRI on his back. That was 10 months ago, he still doesn't have an appointment)
  7. Nothing changes, same snide little comments. Sad little man. BTW, in case you were wondering, yes, I mean you Ant. Now would that be classed as bullying do you think?
  8. "we havnt left because the EU wont let us" Really?
  9. Seems that "total exoneration" isn't quite as total as some would have us believe. We now see the Attorney General of the United States telling bald faced lies to congress under oath. I don't suppose it will hurt his retirement fund any, but where does Trump find people who are as willing to lie about anything as he himself is. Trump is now ignoring the law and ordering members of his staff to ignore the law, telling lies to the American people continuously and getting away with it, at least, he thinks he is. Barr has just done what Micheal Cohen was convicted of doing. With any luck they will all get adjoining cells
  10. Hi I just had a pop up box saying "definition file "my clone" is about to run" Does anybody know what this is and what it does? The PC is scanned for malware on a regular basis, last time this morning, and nothing shows. Thanks Dave
  11. Yep, quite a way to go. Trumps highest ever approval 45% Lowest ever approval 35% Average approval to date 39% Obama's highest ever 69% Lowest ever approval 38% and average approval over two terms 47.9% I'm sure that if Trump really applies himself he can go lower though.
  12. It's OK. The UK has entertained lying, con artist, wannabe dictators before. They're good at it and let's face it, they are a bit desperate. I don't think the Americans will miss him too much. The latest polls show a 39% approval rating, and falling. And that is after his great success over the Meuller report.
  13. He could have divested himself of the job any time he liked, by resigning. All those other jobs were being done while he was actually supposed to be carrying out the duties he was elected to perform as an MEP.
  14. Follow the money. I don't think that they make brown envelopes this big. https://thefinanser.com/2018/07/much-nigel-farage-make-brexit.html/ Jean-Claude Juncker has a net worth of $2.6 Million In 2018 Nigel Farage had a net worth of £2.4 million and an income of around £800,000 p.a.
  15. It does seem a bit strange to be talking about the democratic process in Europe when you look at the mess in Westminster
  16. from your link, as I said: The ordinary legislative procedure gives the same weight to the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on a wide range of areas (for example, economic governance, immigration, energy, transport, the environment and consumer protection). The vast majority of European laws are adopted jointly by the European Parliament and the Council. The codecision procedure was introduced by the Maastricht Treaty on European Union (1992), and extended and made more effective by the Amsterdam Treaty (1999). With the Lisbon Treaty that took effect on 1 December 2009, the renamed ordinary legislative procedure became the main legislative procedure of the EU´s decision-making system.
  17. The Parliament has three main powers: The power to legislate. This power is shared with the Council of the European Union. In most situations, European laws are made by a co-decision procedure. This means that the Council and the Parliament jointly adopt law. The Parliament can make amendments to legislation under this procedure. However, there are certain important areas, for example, tax legislation, where the Parliament may only give an opinion as to whether a proposed piece of legislation can become law.
  18. That list makes the operation fear brigade look like they were not really trying
  19. I don't mind buying fishing tackle that was made in China, but bugger buying bacon that comes from there.
  20. OK John That particular person has been shown on here quite a few times. I have seen and listened to his opinion and I seriously disagree with it in just about every way. As for having respect for others opinion, I don't see a great deal of respect shown to anyone who happens to disagree with the brexit majority on here. I get called names on quite a regular basis for instance. It's strange, I always thought that I was right wing, always voted Conservative, would never vote Labour and hated the concept of Socialism. The problem isn't right wing politics per se, it is the right wing people and the loud mouth bullying tactics that you see from the likes of Trump and his Republican party enablers or Yaxley-Lennon and his anti Islamic goons that I despise, and I use the word advisedly. The person in the video called the Guardian newspaper (not a paper I read, by the way, )although I have often been called a "Guardian reading lefty snowflake") anti-semitic. What a shame that he is another one who doesn't know the difference between anti zionist and anti semitic. I don't like the terrorist tactics used by the state of Israel against the Arabs, although I am sure that many on here applaud them. If you think that shelling schools full of children is OK, then don't expect my support. (That was not aimed at you personally John) This does not mean that I am against people who follow the Jewish religion. The other thing I often wonder is when certain people call others anti semitic but express just the same views about the followers of Islam and that's OK. Maybe I should make my own video.
  21. Ken Did the people in that video look like they were looking to destroy your culture and rape your children? You've been watching too much Infowars.
  22. Seems that the only people who come out of that looking well are the refugees/asylum seekers. Families in a small tent for 3/4 years, with no facilities and nothing to look forward to, so 50 or 60 asylum seekers get the shite kicked out of them by some riot police. Edifying viewing.
  23. You're saying that as if the guy in the video was telling the truth, rather than giving his own completely biased opinion.
  24. Phone I have to say I admire your bravery in continuing to post whilst you are in the midst of a national emergency. How far are you from the border where the invasion is taking place? Is there hand to hand fighting in the street near you or hasn't it reached you yet ? Well, keep your head down and stay safe. All the best Dave
  25. I base my opion on easily verifiable facts. Prisoners in Norway are well treated and respected. When released they cause fewer problems and are much less likely to reoffend and go back to prison. They are the facts for Norway. American prisoners are in a harsh, dangerous environment. They are treated badly by the staff, by and large and live in an environment where looking at someone the wrong way could easily get you killed. After years of this they are released into the community where they can't get a job and find it difficult to relate to the people around them. They harbour fear and resentment and are looking for vengeance in many cases. They are much more likely to reoffend and go back to prison. Also a fact. One system works, the other doesn't. America now has a higher proportion of its population in prison than any other country in the world and that includes countries like Iran and China. What facts do you base your opinion on?
