  1. im looking on quite enviously here.looks great allot better planned out than my bucket and onion sack set up in my inflateable yak.im going into my second season and i cant wait for the sea to flatten off so i can try my new fly rod out for pollock allong the rock edjes that i could never fish from the shore.
  2. thats the prob with benny it seems hes got rather a large mouth so it make it easer for me to pull a bass out of his mouth after i stuff it up his butt tail first.
  3. ill gladly meet you to discuss it.........
  4. dunno bout LH. daiwa but i like em all cos they do what it says on the box basicaly "fishing reel" as far as the new 7000s go i was gona push my luck and buy the 7000LD then Sandtigers sized solid on him for no reason wile he was fishing with it so dont think ill bother with one of them nither. they are some great shore reels round today for there money some equal quality to abus and penn for loads less money i really think its about time penn and abu got back to what they used to do and stoped ripping people off with extremly poor quality reels.
  5. cant speel tipe or post a pic so ill. call the PC Dr in the morn try and get my conger baits posted.
  6. i would show you some of my specimen bass conger baits if i could work out how to post a photo, bass are really stupid fish they will take anything from whole makies scollop frills, there a compleat nusance when you targeting mullet, rays, cod, flounder, wrass, pollock, sole, smoothounds, conger, huss, tope, bream,( ive had so many waisted baits on bream gear than enough with bass however prove to be great bait. cos i wouldnt eat on there totaly over raited eating fish too.
  7. yes i am!i wasnt talking about really big distances i was saying what my prefrence of decently priced servicable fishing reels is that dont end up in the bin after half a seasons fishing.ive had abus, penns, daiwas, toothycritter, shakespear, icon and fladden "shore fishing reels" in the passed six years some most still work fine after 2-3 yrs ive bought more penn and abu than anything else and there all in the bin through serious mechanical failure. there 17yr old daiwa reels i own still working fine today.the abu and penns how ever are retired permantly.i droped norries lead bin on an shv 30 at the last scrabster and used the thing 2 days later not a mark and it had fish!you try that with an abu or penn! i bet you i know the reel will win you bring your abus and penns ill bring the daiwas and well do a drop norries lead bin test on them then fishing directly after i guarantee it.... ive been fishing 20odd years i can cast well but never needed to cast far to catch fish! and i had as many double figure fish as most men/women,never had a smoothhound distroy the cluch on a diawa first cast! abu lasted half a run!! ,and i ve always been able to cast a huge conger bait into a heawind with a daiwa every cast unserviced!(not even oil) penns will never do that! or like i say we could drop 20kgs of lead weights or our reels.and see whos fishing afterwards
  8. some of you wont like this but i would avoid the 525mags if you dont already you will.hopless reels cannot cast in rough weather and bits just fall off for no reason when your fishing.abus a as weak as water for general fishing .daiwa reels are the ones to go for.wont corrode like abus and cast better and are stronger that penns, also you dont need mags for fishing great on a feild but unpradictable when you fishing into a strong head wind.
  9. yeh thats the one would of been fine for 3/4 0z work
  10. i couldnt take it back i had to ripp the rachet out and stuff which sort of caused the bearing to melt as it was also used as a spacer to stop the bearing running up the spindle supprised it did three casts really i only had ten mins on the feild to get it out of the wrapper.and 30mins to find a shop on a sunday morning the night after a really bad congering trip.in which the lad i went congering with smashed his rod all over the rocks cos his cheep multipler wouldnt cast.
  11. i know a good cheep reel to learn with that might give a good few monthes service.its a shakespeare multiper forgot the name(black with silver frame retials for round £30).i got on in jersey i had been thrown down a gauntlet and didnt have a casting reel at all so i bought this thing and went to a casting tounament in jersey only had 18lb line that i usually used for rotton bottoms and did 212 yrds with it first cast the bearings melted in the third though havent cast as far since.the cluch was iffy but it would be ok for smaller spieces like flounders etc and was certainly fairly safe to cast. hope this helps
