  1. Dont really see why Bangladesh should think shes more their problem than ours, to be honest. Or why anyone else would, unless its because shes brown. British citizen, born here, radicalised here. I know people who are entitled to an Irish passport (and have now got themselves one because of Brexit) but I am not sure that prior to that wed have been trying to fob them off on Ireland if they were dodgy.
  2. Honda build cars in the UK because if they build them in Japan and sell them into the EU they get hit with a 10% tariff. The EU and Japan have recently signed a trade agreement which will remove that tariff. The writing was already on the wall, Brexit or not.
  3. "You could tell what a Baggins would say on any question without the bother of asking him"
  4. This is the BBC interview that she's being quoted from;
  5. I thought Ken Clarke made a fair point on Any Questions the other day - we deport foreigners who we consider undesirable (usually people who have committed serious crimes) and we get very upset when their home countries try to wash their hands of them.
  6. Official line appears to be that she can return, but how she does so is not our problem. (can I have my apostrophes back please?)
  7. Theres an argument being made that she was an impressionable kid when she went there, effectively groomed, made a child bride, etc. OK. I do see that. But then shes unrepentant. So why should we give her the benefit of the doubt? Perhaps because she still cant speak freely because shell be murdered if she does? Hmm. I think the thing that comes across most strongly is that she thinks we (the British people, of whom she was once one) owe her something while she owes us nothing. Ask not...
  8. Well its easy for you to say that! I get 12 Mbps here - fttc, but 2km of copper to the cabinet. Or possibly 2km of wet string! I guess I have to pay for the view and the fishing. Still, fast enough for work and Netflix, so I can live with it.
  9. Don't know why we'd waste ordinance or risk lives taking out a no-mark sympathiser. She's a nobody, of no importance, who by her own stupidity is stuck in a sh!thole in a distant land. And executing pregnant women is more ISIS's bag than ours, really. She's made her bed, leave her to lie in it.
  10. That's not good - I moan about how slow mine is, but at least I've got something!
  11. The local NHS trust will arrange them to be picked up and disposed of by a contractor - likewise out of date meds - but there's an audit trail for the out of date stuff. There have been a few caught selling controlled drugs over the counter, which is difficult, you have to cook the books, so I think if a customer has just handed them in, maybe sometimes they don't get logged. Maybe sometimes they just fall under the counter...
  12. There's a protocol for it, I just wonder if everything makes it into the pipeline... https://psnc.org.uk/services-commissioning/essential-services/disposal-of-unwanted-medicines/
  13. Pharmacies here will dispose of unused drugs. Hmm, I wonder how often unused drugs with a street value get "lost" in the system?
  14. She will be struck off for this. She will lose her job in the HoC and not be able to return to her previous career. All to avoid a speeding ticket. You have to question as much as anything else what someone with such poor judgement was doing in such roles in the first place.
  15. Why has she got 3 months, but her brother has got 10? She has, they both have.
  16. I agree, though it is probably a dodgy comparison given the relative population densities, environmental pressures, and the popularity of game fishing in Scotland.
  17. The low carb / high protein approach suits me, in that I enjoy that kind of food, it makes me feel full and it minimises the loss of lean tissue (which leads to yoyo dieting as it drops your BMR). And I don't miss the carbs, unless they are in front of me. Then, I can't resist and I end up bloated and with the squits.
  18. Yep. I suspect there's also an element of bloating going on, I do seem to have digestive problems with wheat and pigging out on bread seems to give a larger temporary jump in weight than rice. Which is annoying, because I love bread and pasta, so sometimes I just take the hit.
  19. Phone; https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25311581
  20. It's quite amusing how much water I absorb if I eat a load of carbohydrates after a few weeks on a low carb diet. Glycogen storage carries a lot of water with it.
  21. Probiotic yoghurt? You know what they can do with that! (may well work better that way)
