Yakity You have a pm Thanks Ped

Martin Could you explain a little more about the 2 carabinners and the loop, what attaches to what ?, I can't picture it !! Many thanks Ped

Guys Do you think there is any value in trying to make 1 & 2oz grip weights or breakaways? or should I just give in and use heavier weights with grips, in fact that begs the question, what weight does everyone use on their Kayaks? do you use up to 6oz or more? Ped

This may help http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/rivers.htm http://www.btinternet.com/~colin.duff/medw...ess_details.htm Just remember that during the course fishing season Kayakers and bank anglers often don't mix very well !!. Always be aware that you may be paddling thru someones swim and try to be as courteous and pleasant as possible whilst they are catapulting pieces of worm and casters at you. Ped

I just soldered and covered in tape. Ped

Ignoring the fantastic professional wiring job (didn't have any red & black wire handy)!! this is how you incorporate the inline fuse, and though it may look cr.p, it works and that's all that matters. Ped (they don't call me sparky for nothing !!)

Dave still there then MM ,looks like I'll have to visit just to see him !!. I am aware that the are getting rather tetchy about all the visitors who want to get close to him. Other than not going there at all if he decides he wants a closer look at us then there really isn't anything we can do is there ? Above all, even if you do get that close you should never touch them, that really is an invasion of personal space !! Have you seen this ? http://www.sandgatedolphin.co.uk/ Ped

MM do you mean wind inside the suit/ball !!!??, I'm sure that it would be as unwelcome as in an astronauts suit !!

Or 'Missing half a person' perhaps !

Many thanks for this MM. anyone else know of areas further into Sussex ? Ped

When it's blowing a south or south westerly, where on the Kent/E Sussex coast is it possible to launch and paddle your Kayak safely?, I suppose around the Thames/Medway would be a good place but can you suggest any good convenient launch points ? All suggestions gratefully received !! Ped

Was reading the sunday paper today and there was an article about the strength of the pound and buying from the US, so as some of you buy from the states I thought these might be of interest. I have no idea how good they are, whether it is cheaper or whatever as I don't buy from the US myself (but mite do now !) but some of you might find them useful, especially for those retailers who don't deliver internationaly. http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/ne...icle1713775.ece]http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/ne...icle1713775.ece[/url] http://www.myus.com http://www.usabox.com If anyone uses them already or in the future maybe you could get back to us to tell us of your retail and delivery experience !! I've not tried putting a PFD on in water, how easy is it?, I would think quite terrifying if you have just come off your Yak, cos you wouldn't be doing it unless something had gone wrong !! Ped
-
Looks good doesn't it ? and I can play games whilst I'm not catching any fish !!, mind you that's probably a sure fire recipe for sea sickness Ped

Any idea how it compares to the Geko 201 which is being sold at Aldi for £79.99 this week, is it waterproof ? Ped
-
Thanks Guys, that clarifies. Ped

Well duh...! I'm standing in the shower thinking about what I have just written and it dawns on me!... the weight drops with the swivel so the issue of the additional weight may be irrelevant depending on the length of the trace below the swivel...isn't gravity marvellous Mind you I still ask the question, if the trace is a few feet long do you add more weight? Ped
-
Many thanks Gilbo Presumably you add more weight below the swivel to get the bait down to where it's needed or do you rely on it to drift more naturally down without it ?, which won't work if there's a bit of current ! Ped

Guys Not having Course fished for many years and not having float fished in the sea could anyone advise on the best set up for a float rig from a Yak?. It obviously needs to be flexible enough to be set at a couple of feet up to maybe, I don't know 30/40 feet!. Where do the weights and stop knots go? how is the one above the float set up so that it can go thru the rod rings without getting stuck?, and if you want to fish at 30 feet how do you set the stop knot. Would you use a plummet? What are your setups? All info gratefully accepted Cheers Ped

Do they do them in Flame Red ?! Ped

Perhaps use a kite instead of a sail to get to where you want to fish. Hope I haven't given richi any ideas !!
