  1. http://www.milinderuchec.co.uk/ Dave, who runs this place has got it just about right for me. I had a fantastic week there at the end of February and would recommend it to anyone. Have a look a what Dave's doing and copy as much as you can. He's FULLY booked throughout 2006 which I think says it all. Fantastic venue and spot on host. I'm sure Dave would be more than helpful, so why not contact him for a chat. Hope this Helps
  2. That'll do for me, on the wish-list it goes. Have you seen the mk 4 ??
  3. Model up for debate but make must be SHIMANO, nuff sed!!!!
  4. Heard good and bad reports but desparately need to replace my Chub barrow so are they worth investing in? or should I stick to my barrow ans cut-back on the gear I take? When fully laiden my Chub barrow really struggles and is so heavy due to position of the load in relation to the wheel. IK'm told the Carp porters are much lighter and balanced better.
  5. Haven't fished WP for a few weeks now so can't give you much info. Walk the hound there most weekends and lakes are what i'd describe a "busy". Lake THREE is the more popular (as usual) and mostly has 8-10 bivvies dotted around it's banks. Lake TWO has also been getting some attention recently. Not sure if fish playing ball or not as I haven't bumped into Colin the bailiff recently.
  6. Coleman dual fuel (petrol) stoves are brilliant, I've got a single and a double burner. As for burn times I think Coleman claim upto SIX hours on one tank full of fuel (approx 1 pint on single and 1.5pints on double) so would've thought that would get you through even a 3 day session. If not you can buy a special fuel bottle to take a refill with you. Suggest you use plastic gloves when filling (and priming) though cos fingers can get smelly and not exactly a good smell to put all over your baits!!!!
  7. Well, it was always on the cards, "blanked" again, as did Grant. Neither of us had so much as a sniff but were not alone. Two guys who packed up a coouple of hours after we arrived spent THREE days on Oxlease without a single fish to their SIX rods. Lovely lake but carp were just not 'avin it. Head bailif said fish were moving about and unsettled and one of the previously mentioned "blankers" said on Thursday the water in front of them was black with fish all afternoon but no runs followed!!!! I reckon they could be thinking about spawning, at least that's my excuse for blanking on this so-called "prolific runs water". We did see a nice 27lb-er landed as we left which was a bonus, sad thing was it was hooked just 50-60yrds from were we'd had our baits !!!!!!!
  8. Any tips or best pegs???? would prefer a double peg if possible.
  9. Beat me to it!!!!! Reckon baitrunner type reels must come a close second though.
  10. Excellent, looking forward to it. How much do you plan on spending? and will you advise wher we can source materials and components?
  11. ...... and how long before the UK turns into that "Sh!t-Hole" as you so aptly put it. How long before before the Ghettos spring up here. Whoops!!! has it already happened. Remember it takes PEOPLE to create any sh!t-hole in the same way as Adam & Eve conspired to trash paradise. Having migrated FROM a sh!t-hole I suppose you expect these people to adapt themselves to suit their new environment rather than what in reality actually happens, they adapt the environment they've moved TO and re-invent their very own sh!t-hole.
  12. Either way we finish up with NO work and NO jobs !!!!!!! HO HO HO !!!! I'll be following you then, off you go........... I think not.
  13. On you go matey, I'll be watching with interest. If all goes to plan, why not go into business and make them to order?????
  14. The next wave of cheap labour will start to legally invade our fair shores. Bulgaria & Romania have an average wage which is 1/3 that of the EC average and guess where most of them will be heading after today's ruling allows them to become members of the EC??????? How many more can we squeeze onto our little island???? Still with all that cheap labour around our "Fat Cat" bosses can get even richer, but what about the rest of us, where will we get employment???
  15. Count me in too !!!!!!
  16. We figured as much and intend leaving Cambridge @ 2:30 - 3:00am. Should take 2 and a bit hours so hoping to arrive around 5:00am. We might even set sail Thursday night and sleep in car. Really unsure about this cos I HATE busy waters but it's the only place I can come up with where Grant stands a fair to middling chance of his first twenty, unless of course, someone can point me in the direction of a better (QUIETER) venue and preferably a litttle closer to home.
  17. How do you get the loose feed in? is it "SPODSVILLE" with constant splashing all over the lake?
  18. I'll second that, superb kit, very easy and quick to put up. Added bonus is it's HUGE, plent of room for everything.
  19. Gonna go have a crack at one or other of these on 26th May. Taking my mate Grant to try and get him his first 20 before he departs these shores to go live in Oz. I've never been near the place let alone fished there but from what I've read it's gotta be his best chance of a 20. Need as much in the way of help, tips and info as possible if I'm gonna put him on a few fish. It's the best leaving pressie I can think of. Best pegs (preferably doubles)????? assuming we get there early enough to choose. Best baits, methods etc etc etc. I realise I'm always on here cadging information but this one really is not for me, just wanna see Grant's face if he puts a 20 on the mat,
  20. Excellent, that'll do nicely Sir. Thanks!!!
  21. When? Who on? Who off? For which team? Any takers, c'mon someone out there must know. It's buzzing around the office here but we think we've narrowed it down to sometime between 1966 & 1970, over to you....................
  22. you forgot Mr "I did not see it" Jol
  23. What about when i take my little portable fishing, can i watch world cup from my bivvy this June? My Mother in Law lives with us and it's her name on our household license so how do I go on about having my handheld telly on the bank?
  24. They'll be getting my vote f'sure!!!! It's time to stand up and be counted....................... Sod Blair, Sod the Tories & Sod the Lib whatever they are's they've had their chances and look where we are.
  25. What about the small 7" screen one that I take fishng sometimes? My Mother in Law lives with us and, due to her age, qualifies for a free TV license so our house is covered but what about when I, a non-license owner take my little portable TV out of the house and go fishing?
