  1. I thread them up the line through both holes on bubble. push up a rubber bead and tie on a swivel and pull bead down over swivel. and tye on hooklength around 1-4 foot depending on how wary the fish are. sometimes i put a small shot behind bubble about a foot away. i find some places the fish dont hook themselves with just the bubble float on. i find when the bubble float hits the shot the fish pulls float and the fish hooks itself withe the weight of float pulling on the water.
  2. my lakes up quite alot aswell and never usually fishes this time of year as its lower. but the water is up and is quite warm at moment(usually low and cold in winter). how much will it affect the fish. and also usually the lake is gin clear but at the moment its like a light chocolate colour. as there used to clear water will they react different to murky water.
  3. hi just read this. me and b1g-dav3 aint same person or brothers using same computer. we did have same ip as we were both loging on at a library as i didnt have internet. if you look now i have diffrent ip. i dont think big-dav3 (matty ward) even comes on anymore. my names michael armstrong. im on this me
  4. well weve chosen to fish linear. we'll be going either in middle of july or start august. i heard different times of week are harder to get onto the better pools is this true. is there certain times of the year it may become hrd or very hard to fish certain pools.
  5. thanks again rob for some more valuable info. i didnt realise how good lineaer was until today when i went on there site and compared there venue records to that of docklow. i like the idea your fishing a place where theres lots of double figure fish of different species. youll never know what pb your catch next be it a pike, carp, catfish, tench or be it bream. i like fishing down the edge in margins as thats all i do when fishing with the pole. i reckon the margins are the best feature of a lake. as i said in first post a docklow i hooked a catfish on the pole on meat. and you wouldnt expect that especially in 30oc. margins number 1 for me. and you reccomend the hardwick. just had a look at that and your right ver similar stocks. i might even take a small waggler or pole and try for the smaller monster fish (maybe a new roach or rudd pb)whilst i wait for the real monsters. well if nots all well on st johns after 3 or 4 nights ill hop onto hardwick for the remainder of the week. ps. have you had much out of linear. and which pool and baits you caught on. oh and methods.(can you surface fish)
  6. which venue is best linear fisheries-docklow well in july my mate wanted to go fishing as a birthday present and i was wandering which one is the best. well be going for a week. if we go to docklow we'll probebly jump pools on first 3 days getting new bagup pb's and spend 3 days fishing the main specimen lake to try to get an new carp pb.(and well be sleeping in there accomidation) but if we go to linear well try to get our moneys worth by fishing on st johns lake and try and get a new catfish, carp, tench and pike pbs. as i heard theres alot of specimen fish in here.(and well be stocked up in our bivvies) which of the above venues would you reccomend. were be going after large carp but also somewere were othe pb's are reachable. i was leaning towards linear as its £150 for 7x24 hours each. docklow would cost us £205 each. but we do sleep in a cottage. any info on linear would be brilliant never fished it. ive fished docklow twice both times on the pool behind specimen lake called farmer jack and hooked a bloody catfish on the pole in the bloody red hot day on meat in the margins.
  7. i think thats the best thing to do. thanks rob. and thanks to all other advise. ill pass information on to me mate hes gonna buy his first setup and the rage rod and reel combi is perfect.
  8. did you have much. anyone else fishing. methods and baits.
  9. hi, youd do best having this in coarse fishing. the moderater will probebly move for you . anyroad. if your main aim is to catch larger amount of fish its best using maggots and trying to catch the smaller fish with the odd larger fish. worm will work well if there some perch as perch love worms. if you havent allready toull need a float rod and reel.(some rods come with quiver tips that screw in the top for ledger fishing). dont feed alot of bait as the fish dont eat as much in thsi weather and you may over feed them and kill your swim. light lines will be best 2/3lb mainline down to a 1lb or even 1/2lb hooklength. after the larger fish using corna and feeding maggots and few bits of corn lines about 3lb mainline down to 2lb hooklength. make sure you use plumet so your fishing right on bottow or 1 or 2 inch deeper. as fish will be on bottom this time of year. try ringing a local tackle shop and there tell you whats baits to use as they may no the pool. when ledgering its best using straight lead. dont use feeder. when i go this time of year i just send out feeder once to get bait out and fish with lead chucking feeder out every hour. for ledgring you can use 3lb mainline down to either 1lb or 2lb depending on bait. maggots/worms 1lb, meat/corn 2lb.
  10. hi, i can only chose were to go out of those as its one of those sun holidays out the sun newspaper. and those places were the only ones we can get to and have fishing. i think ill put thorpe park as bottom choice. i have no kids im one of the kids because i know how to use computer and were to ask and look i was chosen to find best holiday.
  11. i was thinking of getting some new rods and reels. when i started i didnt have much money so i bought 3 leeda 2xl rods and reels and i thought id upgrade and have them for bream and tench nighters instead. is there any you could reccomend. i was thinking of spending about £150 . im looking for a 3 rod setup.
  12. found out itll cost me its free to fish valley pool as we allways purchase entertainment card so we can have extras and fishing is included. i allso spoke to a friend who used to live near and said it holds plenty of fish but not caught often. but best methosds are up in water and using floating bread for the large carp wich run up to 20lb. and may be bigger.
  13. i am gonna get one of these didnt realsie you could buy them for £250. 1stbob i reccomend you buy this pole has lots of extra tops and it 16 metre so you can reach to places some people may not reach.
  14. do you remember the costs for the oaks and sessey. and whats in those pools.

  17. I have a Fox A pod and its brilliant. very sturdy and easy to put together. i had it for a year and never had a problem. only cost me £20 of ebay. shops usually sell them for £40.
  18. out the two i'd have to choose the maver deploy its's only an extra £24. they both come with same tops and exras but the deploy is quite lighter. and this may benifit when you need to fish long tmes at distance.
  19. see what ya mean in amount of tackle. i do match and specimen fishing and in over last 2 years me tackle seems to of trebled. and theres me grandads. and i wouldnt like to replace 5 grands worth of tackle. and weve allready had 2 breakins attempted on our fishing shed. our house insurance only covers half of items stolen in shed but full in house.(and all tackles in shed) so any one with some good tackle insurance company would be great.
