  1. the perch in our syndicate lake ave got balls....they've started getting caught regulary on 16mm boilies!!!! and they is not bright pop ups jus standard bottom baits
  2. yeah but when a young lad is copying him and is out in a boat with no life jacket ther is no film crew
  3. dream fishing was filmed last year and the series that has catchh22 in it was only about 5 years ago.....
  4. just filmed one of my mates in bellie waders falling over....result....feet in air head under water he didn't panic....he could get his head up but it kept getting forced back down....we retreived him after he went under for the 3rd time...if i can work out how to put it on here i will.......i think alot of ppl haven't noticed about him not wearing a life jacket as well you just can't not wear one these days espically on TV wher you should be setting an example!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. i'll be set up an the 15th ready for a midnite assualt on a undisclsoed river after a 40lb mirror that frequents the area....the baits been going in for 3 weeks and ther aving it
  6. good thread but no one brings up any safety issues......
  7. u dont get it tho, im not just there to fish for the carp anyway....the tench and bream are there along with the perch and roach and what have you...but ive consulted the club baliffs and they are saying its fine to fish so im going to fish for them, and i care for the carp, i bought 7 of them from furnace mills to put into that pond, this is a pm i just got from henda11...think you should of just posted it on here to let ppl kno you fish for other spieces.....but....did you have permission from furnace mills???? did you have a section 30???? was the fish checked for diesese b4 they was moved????? moving fish is illegal and can totally wipe out the whole stock of a lake
  8. well i've had a very good friend drown wen this happened he was returning a fish slipped waders filled up with air and he couldn't get back up.....do you want to ask his family if its a myth???? i was on the far side of the lake but couldn't get round in time......now ask me if its a myth!!!!!! obviously its now something i feel quite strongly about!!!!!!
  9. but we have given him some advice and he seems to question it......we all want to catch fish but ther are other speices to go at.....i'm a carp angler pretty much full time at the mo....but as soon as they look like spawning i switch to targeting big eels and perch
  10. this mite be a bit contraversal but......just wondering if anyone has any views on john wilson???? is he really some1 that should be on tv promoting our sport to youngsters???? he's obviously a capable angler but after watching some of his shows i wouldn't want anybody on my lakes fishing in the mannor he does!!!!! i'll list a few..... -the 1st thing he says when he hooks a fish is normally ''remember i've only got light line on'' surely he should use line suited to the type of fishing he is doing -his landing net is always too small -often dosen't use a unhooking mat -tries to make pike tail walk on purpose....this aint good for the fish!!! -seen him braking lake rules doing all of the above at catch22 and i was ther the week that was filmed....it was in a no fishing area that had been pre baited for him -and worst of all is every time he goes out in a boat he is wearing waders and no life jacket!!!!! if he comes out of the boat the waders will fill with air forcing his legs up and his head under not the sort of thing kids should seeing and potentionally copying..... any views?????
  11. look mate it looks like you don't want to listen to any advice and have no care for the well being of the fish ...seems your just trying to make excuses to go......just go try catch em and see how you feel if any fish you catch go belly up
  12. agree just don't bother i aint fished 4 carp in the last 2 weeks cos they is getting ready to spawn....and i don't think its fair to carry on fishing for em....its a stressfull time for the fish and catching them will just cause more stress.....which can lead to fish not getting rid of ther spawn becoming spawnbound which can often kill the fish.......its happened a few times on our lake which is why no one will fish for em at the mo.....just look at the world record carp last week it got caught then died during spawning......in a way i feel its a bit irresponsable to fish for ANY spawning fish...not worth risking the life of a fish just to get a trophy shot!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. i use krystonite for short range work (up to 100yds) and dawia sensor for the long chuck rods....alot depends on the situation you are fishing in at the time
  14. yeah agree it varies from water to water i've had 13fish from one syndicate i'm on this year and 11 of them have been between 5.30am and 5.45am wheras another water i go to the fish seem to come out between 7pm an 10pm
  15. Shaun Harrison has been involved in the devolopment of the bait so it can't be bad stuff.....that guy kno's his bait!!!!!
  16. yeah it is true i kno the chap who had it couple of weeks ago.....and kno some1 who is ther now......
  17. personally i wouldn't use any thin but a shimano or dawia reel cos these have all lasted me years.....i've got a set of dawia emblems that i've had 10 years and still working fine but i jus changed to dawia entohs.....trouble wiv the pro logic and the okuma gear is you don't know how long it will last!!!! i mite know some1 selling 3x esp tracers 3.1/4TC and 3x dawia emblems if your interested
  18. jus kook in the mags and shop around erics angling doin the rod wiv emcast evo for 115notes and thats the 1st page i opened carpworld on www.ericsangling.co.uk
  19. gotta agree greys r quality....i use ther rods for all my long range work.....cast awsome, nice for playing fish on and come with a lifetime guarentee.....think you can get the greys prodigy 12'6 3.1/2 tc now with a big pit reel for hundred quid.....thats a bargin espicially as the rod will last for years and if you do brake one they jus replace it.....don't buy cheap you'll only regret it and ave to replace em...
  20. you'll prob struggle 4 aug this year the better venues are normally booked up a year in advance!!!!!
  21. the tackle ur using should be fine i had a 55lb cat recently on 12lb line and a 25lb silkworm hooklink.....i'd lay a big bed of hemp maggot and pellet down 2 attract the baitfish 2 the area then the cats will jus swim thru wiv ther mouths open and scoop up the bait and any little fish feedin on it i normally use pellet on the hair or a fishmeal pop up about 2inches off the deck had loads using this method!!!!!!!! i'd use a bigger lead tho normally 3 to 5oz
  22. i'm afriad elliot is like that i kno 2 ppl who have had fish he wanted from a local lake and he anit spoke to em since and he was really pally with one of em b4 that as soon as he saw that fish go over the net he walked off and they aint spoke since....get the impression he don't like others catching and him not.....very arrogant
  23. i also use the fox braid and float......i used to ave the same problem but got put onto a special ceramic ring fox do witch comes in a kit for marker work....it aint cheap bout 8quid but you only buy it once.....its basicly like a quality ring like the eyes in rods designed to be used with braid.........float pops up every time even at ranges up to 130 yards even in thick weed......think nash do a similar kit....i also use a large cork ball under the float instead of a buffer bead can only help!!!!!!
  24. could it not just be the fact that ther was no fish feeding on the spot with the other baits????? and could the fish just not of fancied the other baits cos they have been hammered on it in the past.....baits blow jus take tigers used to be awesom but can sit for months on lake beds now cos fish been caught on them so often...also bit pricey don't you think??? good bait companys normally do a deal for bulk orders........we only pay 5.50 a kilo wen we buy 10k or more
