  1. I'm also using Vista and IE 7 and have had this problem for several weeks. Crashed IE three times before managing to post this. On my PC it seems to be trying to load a Google lead when the crash occurs - if the thread page loads fully then it seems OK but with 'Done but error on page message'.
  2. Well, my experiences are as follows: 4lb Fireline crystal on 'pin. 4 years and still on the initial 50m. Yes it's 'fuzzy' but not apparently lost any strength despite regular winter use. Heavier (14lb?) Fireline smoke on lure reel. Again fuzzy but still strong enough to remove branches, straighten hooks/swivel clips etc. so no problem there! Only used 3-4 times a season over about 8 years though. I also experimented with 10lb Fireline smoke for barbel ledgering BUT gave up very quickly as it's abrasion resistance was so poor. No fish lost fortunately. In the final analysis you must use what you have confidence in and, yes, as the 'toad' says, there may well be good or better alternatives out there.
  3. I had the same model as this, in black and from new, until a couple of years ago. I sold it for £60 to a friend who uses centrepins almost exclusively (as I do) and thought it strange that, having seen him fishing on numerous occasions since, he never seemed to be using it nor did he ever mention it to me. When I asked him the other week as to why he didn't use the Stanton he replied that a friend of his had pestered him for it so he sold it on. At a decent profit no doubt!!
  4. There is a 30min. video interview with the author on the following site: http://www.piscatoribus.co.uk/margins/JohnAstonVideo And yes, I look forward to his second book!
  5. Try ringing Harrisons in Liverpool direct! They can send to your nearest supplier.
  6. Hi there, I too have issues 1-7 and I think that was all there were!
  7. Hi lyn, Congratulations to Liam but to whom are you sending the photos? Sorry, couldn't resist that! All the best for 2008. Russell in darkest Norfolk.
  8. I can remember having two Auger rods back in the early '70's. One was a 9ft quivertip or 'donkeytop', being their version of the Ken Smith rod. Think it was called the Mustang. Also had a 14ft match rod, possibly called Valiant or Victor I think. The Auger name seemed to disappear in the later '70's.
  9. Lyn, is that you? Did I meet you with the 'boss' and Liam about 10years ago at Ringland in Norfolk? We also spoke on a number of occasions by phone. I'm Russell - the Head Bailiff (Still, after all these years too!) Hope you are well. Russell.
