I have roed up female bass that are 34.5 and 35 cm long its total bullxhit that female bass dont mature until they are 43-45 cm long, male and female bass mature at the same size which is under the present minimum landing size, Sounds like anglers may have a bag limit soon then.

Hi Barry How have you been doing, catching lots of those cod that we cant catch, Anglers in my marina have done well for them all over the winter nice size fish as well, I think this french thing is a wind up, I can understand the smaller french boats putting pressure on to stop the winter pair trawl fishery, thats fair enough I have written letters to DEFRA and the EU about stopping that fishery As for a higher MLS and closed season for bass thats just crazy, it will all end up as discards, if you raise the MMS for codends then you wont catch any soles and we all live in mixed fisheries, its a mexican stand off at the moment things are to some extent balanced, I have a letter in fishing news this week asking Cefas scientist to do surveys and revisit their evidance on the sexual maturity of female bass, I believe, with the evidance I have that female bass mature at the same time as male bass at about 34 CM's, and they are still spawning into June

Hi Barry Kingsmere is a real joke, it was put forward by the sussex sea fisheries, and will achive nothing, most bream spawn north of that box right where the pair trawlers catch tons of bream when they are spawning, it just goes to show that the sub group and the regional group of the balanced seas know nothing about the location and spawning habits and habitat of sea bream, fact is as long as it is nearly right and they prove to be seen to do something then thats good enough if it achieves nothing then that is of no importance to them

EAR comes bag limits, ie 2 bass 2 cod and as many dogs as you can carry lol lol, 140 MILLION anglers worldwide is one MASSIVE amount of unquoted and unrecorded fish mountain lol lol

I suppose everyone has a right to use the beach including swimmers, maybe a compromise maybe better, something is better than nothing, perhaps the byelaw should allow angling between 9 pm and 9 am or something on those lines
