  6. Hi all, I am planning a Bankholiday Weekend fishing trip down to Cornwall in May. I know some of your will be thinking "its a little early to start doing that" but some of the guys I know work in the retail trade so need plenty of notice to arrange any time off if needed. Now the general idea is to travel down on the Friday with maybe a meet at exeter services fish the sat/sun and maybe the sat night as well then back on the monday. The loacation as it stands will be a place called Gorran haven which a couple of us have already fished. It has a good beach to launch from, parking just up the road which costs £2.00 all day and good selction of mixed ground for the fishing and most importantly a good cafe on the beach and pubs close by. Camping will be the way to go as in accomdation hence why I need to know how many will be coming so I can look into booking camping pitches as soon as possible due to it being a Bank Holiday. So from the guys down yer in Devon we have a possible 11 (including you Headshine ) but anyone from up country interested? and if any of the guys down in Cornwall have any better site choices or suggestions feel free to post them. All the best ChrisW

  11. Hi Mark, I normally tackle up ready and are ready to go as soon as I hit the fishing mark and on the way in I stay tackled up but then most of my launching marks have been from slipways or the beach in what I would call average conditions. ChrisW

  15. Hi all, Just got my inside weather report, as it stands the worst day will be Saturday but on Sunday the wind is forecast to drop in our favour but it will be overcast and dull with maybe a few showers. But thats a minor problem, we do have options for easy landings if you feel you are getting to wet but what I say is once your wet your wet!!!! To those of you who will be new to the area we are NOT launching from the breakwater car park and if you are not sure where to go you will need to go to the opposite side of the inner harbour drive up the hill and follow the car park signs for coaches, that will take you down by a big block of flats, we all park down in the lower car park. If anybody who is coming wants my mobile number just PM me. I will give an update on the weather on this forum on Saturday and answer any last querys. ChrisW

  21. Hi Headshine, Dont worry about not being able to anchor just bring a length of rope with you as they are plenty of bouys to tie up too. ChrisW
  22. Hi all, Ok the details are as follows, The venue is going to be Brixham the reason being easy launching and landing right next to the carpark and refreshments are available if anybody needs a coffee (now I wonder who that could be). They are a choice of fishing spots ranging from sheltered harbour, rock and deep water all within easy paddling and its all close to shore. The bait being the most popular is live shrimp/prawn which we float and freeline and they will no doubt be some available on the day to anyone who cannot source any (Thanks Rob) but please if you can get your own then do so as they will be a limited amount not saying that other baits will not work. As for parking you will need to go into Brixham, past the harbour and down to the lower coach car park (cant remember what it called???) I will be coming from Exeter so if anybody wants to meet me on the way and to follow me down thats fine just let me know. I belive the high tide is approx 7:30am so we will be looking at launching at proberly around 6am for those who can rise early so we can fish the tide in. If anbody requires any more details just post them on this notice so everybody can read them. Sorry you cant make it Paignton Baz have a safe and enjoyable holiday they will always be another time and yes they will be a report posted on the trip. Rob if you want to add anything be my guest. ChrisW
