Nylon weed guards tend to get mullered by pike but I have found sprung stainless steel ones to work ok.The secret of these is to ensure that they are made of the correct guage of wire so that they work properly.As all ready mentioned keeping the hooks ultra sharp (as indeed they should always be helps a lot.

'If you know the owner, warn him that he needs some sort of text blurb on the beginning page of the site unless he wants to lose potential customers. With my normal browser security settings I see only a blank page. Had to view the source code for the page to make sure there was content and to figure out what settings I'd need to change'

i use firefox and i cant even open a blank page there, shame really, i've been thinking about ordering some bits from him

jeepster - I think the site owner has done himself a major dis-service putting together a commercial web site that won't respond to browsers with fairly tight security settings.

i've only just switched to firefox, when i tried to look at his site recently i assumed it was offline as firefox says it cannot access the site, it does seem strange that he's allowed that to happen.

Newt, I spoke to Andy Bellenie at The Lure Shack this morning and he sends thanks for the advice. He also asks if you could directly e-mail him at enquiry@thelureshack.com and explain precisely what happened when you tried to access his website and what changes you made to your security settings, so that he may pass the info to his site designer.
