I have had the pleasure of having two six week boating and fishing family and friends holydays in the channel islands. Mainly at Aldernay.

We took a 35 foot Aquastar from Bradwell there via a few french ports. Best hollydays ever, we even saw a pod od 15 pillot whales.

We caught tope to 50lb, bass to 8lb lots of pollock to 13lb, blond rays to 25lb, ballan wrasse to nearly 6lb, mullet to over 5lb along with lots of other fish.

These islands are spesial, they need protecting you have my vote I think it went through ok...

Hi Jim,

We will propose a full close season as alot of 'pleasure' anglers have been joining the slaughter. Don't get me wrong there are anglers fishing it and stopping when they have enough fish for tea and their sister etc and then they go home (after about an hour). But there are many who are just going crazy and just thinking about today and grabbing it while they can.

If a closed season is introduced, even if it is in that area, then we also need to educate people why it is being done. As some people will just think we're ruining their fun and new income
