So you think tiny tiny little Codling averaging 1 pound is good fishing? My God.

Its all a matter of perception. When I was a kid catching dabs from Southend Pier was all the sea fishing I could get, and catching three 6oz fish was a great day out. As long as the undersized fish go back safely, catching small fish is better and more enjoyable than catching no fish.

I would call it very poor fishing. It annoys me when I inadvertantly catch a small fish. It's usually injured be the hook, or damaged in some way. I know we can't help it, but it's a shame that some die . Have you tried using a larger hook to filter out most of the small ones, although some will get hooked, many more don't?
