I read somewhere it takes 4kg of "wild feed" to produce 1kg of salmon, hardly sustainable??

Add to this the new ventures into Cod farming and we are heading for major problems. I can also foresee health problems not only with the Fish, as has been seen with Salmon but also into the human food chain as with CJD. We reap what we sow and there's a very high price on this crop.

It's not just the amount of fish used to produce the feed, it's the farmed fishes waste.

 

We only have to look what happened off Newfoundland as an example of mans intervention.

 

All commercial fishing for Sandeels should be stopped, along with the new krill fisheries in the north Atlantic.

Sand Eel fishing wont have to be stopped.......

 

Since they have again licensed about twice as much as the North Sea actually produced last year it wont be long before sand eels are an endangered species.

 

But since you cant see or count their numbers we have to rely on somebody with a minimal amount of common sense to see that falling catches actually equates to falling stocks...........

 

mmmmmmmmm, their is a quandry in life, an official with common sense, perhaps that too is an endangered or maybee an extinct species

its not only fish farms ,now meat products are banned in cattle food where do you think the protein comes from
