Bit of a long shot, but I received an email from a guy who's had his car stolen and figure it can't hurt to help.

Details and pics here, or you can view details on Ebay here.

Bar Stewards!

That's what I can't get, I don't need to know who the dirty old man in my street is , I look after my kids and bring them up correctly, but why can't they name and shame all the light-fingered thieving scum so we know who they are?

I hope the guy gets lucky.

  • 1 year later...

Look at the date of the original post.

Now look at the email I received yesterday:

Last night I was browsing Ebay looking at classic cars. I came across a couple of Mk1 Escorts and thought I would take a look. I saw one the same colour as the one that was stolen from me so looked closer. Turns out the car was left hand drive and the interior was not even close to mine.

Then I spot another one the same colour and couldn't believe it...it was my car, complete with scratch on the passenger side rear quarter and a few other marks I recognised. The seller goes on to describe it as having a leaky wheel cylinder and no brakes...mine had a leaky wheel cylinder and no brakes.

So I take a closer look at the car and compare it to some old pics I have and sure enough, it's my car. I contact plod and give them the heads up and continue to give them details about the car that aren't freely available in the sellers advert. Plod then contacts Plod in Perth, Scotland, (yes the car is in Scotland now), and they go and take a look.

Turns out everything I told them checks out and they seize the vehicle. I have no idea what will happen to the seller, but I'm sure the **** is gonna roll downhill to the scum who nicked it in the first place... Happy Days.

Made my day, that :)

You mean he has it for 18 months and hadn't fixed the brakes

Part of my reply back:

Can't believe the ******** had the know-how to identify the faults, and then not even fix them. In the end, though, it cost them! LOL

:D

The trouble is if the person trying to sell it says he bought it in good faith then the owner will have to pay what he paid to get it back!! This happened to me when Mathew had his bike stolen and I found it for sale at a shop in Aldershot, I was disgusted that I had to pay the shop to get it back!!

Still glad he's getting it back.

PS Bertha came from a dealer in Perth, wonder if it's the same one :(

I had a security device fitted to my old motorbike. I could detach the silencer with a thumbscrew so it was just downpipes...

Some pikey hotwired it one night. Think he shat himself when it fired up. Was still sitting on its stand running when I came out 15 seconds later. Had to re-wire the loom anyway, was rotten as hell.

Nice to see Plod actually doing something for a change. Glad he found the car too, stroke of luck that, hope it pans out in his favour.

Would be interesting jumping on the BACK of a BIKE while naked, saying "Hello sweety". I think the same result would ensue. Problem would be if he said it back...

Nice result on the Escort, hopefully the thief will get his comeuppance.

Saw this in the Telegraph at the weekend; amused me.

LOL That's class. Weird goings-on often have a profound effect on people. I think I'd have ran, too :D
