only one team turned up and it wasnt england!

The salary of the chief executive of a large corporation is not a market award for achievement. It is frequently in the nature of a warm personal gesture by the individual to himself.

Anyway, moving swiftly on.... :whistling:

Thought England looked in good form for the first 20 minutes or so, never have seen a England team play such neat passing...so considering it was a much under strength squad I am not too depressed that we lost to a very good and strong Spanish team..

I for one I prefer the more mobile type of striking partnership, perhaps Defoe and or Owen with Rooney which will break down defences as good as Spain. Beckham looked good and deserved a whole 45 minutes, some of his passing was the sort of thing that we cannot replace just yet. James looks error prone still, Green was better.

Onwards and Upwards :clap2:

The word 'outclassed' was what came to my mind.

Did the Spanish 'keeper have to make a save from a goal-bound shot? I've never seen an England side so far on the back foot.

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

I gave up watching in disgust. The way England were passing the ball around in their own half, looked as if they were time wasting with a good lead and the number of times they passed to Spain :o I know we were missing some good players but we should have done better with the players that were out there. I was surprised to see David James in goal given the way he has been playing or not as the case may be!

Glad I spent most of the match watching Terry Pracket, much more interesting, even fliting over to see how the castle being restored on Grand Designs was coming on was more exciting than the match, lets hope our rugby team do better on Saturday

I wouldn't count on it lyn. Playing away to the defending champions who, let's face it, love nothing more than beating England doesn't sound like a winning formula to me. Especially if they play any thing like they did last week !

Looks like you took your eye off the ball Lyn, but still managed to appraise the match?

The passing by England was not the problem Lyn.in fact that element of their game has improved, sometimes as a team you need games like this to raise our own game, we were very weakened as a team, so don't read too much into the result.

As far as the rugby is concerned, unless you support Wales I fear you will be a bit disappointed
