What Flies for Now?

I'm a total trouting novice and probably fish on avergae once every 3 years! I went last week and didn't catch but fancy another go soon(will spoil the average I know!) What flies should I be using at this time of year? I am fishing a commercial approx 2 acre lake.

Thanks

Martin

Well, you could try a cat's whisker if you don't want to be imatative.

But at the moment there's loads of naturals hatching:

buzzers - would be where i'd start

small olive lure - especially if there's damsel nymphs

hares ear

If fish are rishing, some kind of small black dry or a suspender buzzer. It all depends on the water itself. There may even be olives/mayflies hatching.

Can't argue with the above posting, its exacly what I would be using.

I might add a small Pheasant Tail Nymph to the list, but that would be all.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

If there are fish rising try a black shipmans buzzer. Put on a small amount of flotant (Gink) and fish it stationary. Dont be afraid to just let it sit there. You might be surprised

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

There's a lot of hawthorn flies about this year, try a black & peacock spider just under the surface or a black dry if you see any. Good luck!

ORANGE DOG NOBBLER FF2 witnessed the carnage I done at a certain Durham fishery and smuggled out enough trout to feed a Biafran for 100000000 years
