Boilies

I'm led to believe that there is no regulation in the amount of preservative used, which may be the cause for concern.

Preservatives in human food are strictly controlled.

Quite how you police such a ban is beyond me. What's to stop people freezing a bag of 'shelf life' boilies and making them appear to be 'freshly frozen' to a bailiff?

Naturals as in worms, maggots etc.stretched maggots are overlooked in todays society!Floating casters are deadly, and do you know why.no-one uses them anymore .as are shrimps/prawns/cockles and mussels presented on 8lb line,10 hook, hair rigged on the float."boilies" are not the panacea for catching carp easily that certain bait companys would have us believe.far from it in fact.have you ever caught a carp off the top using sunflower seeds chesters1.i have ,and john wilson himself gave me the knowledge to do so.tight lines

If boilies are so bad for the fish then why have all our fisheries started producing larger fish.

Agreed - naturals "can" produce the results - but often don't otherwise we'd all be on them. We all got bored with getting up every ten minutes to unhook another 3 inch roach long ago !!!!
