Pricing Cars

I'm curious to know what you use in the UK to assess the value of your vehicles. In the states we use the Kelly Blue Book . It bases the value on the options the vehicle has and against the local area where the car is found.

Someone I know is trying to sell an 2.2 liter (I think) automatic, honda legend, G-reg with more than 100k miles on it. He's asking 1200 pounds. I've worked on it and think he's wasting his time. Anyone have any comments?

twelve hundred quid for a G plate motor!!!!!

mate it would have to be gold plated for me to pay that.

i've just flogged a g plate diesel escort van for £30 to get it out my way AND it only had 68k on the clock.

Best way to get a rough price is to take a look at sites like autotrader

Or most peoples favourite Parkers price guide

Just had a look on autotrader myself and in the £500 to £2000 price range and within a 100 miles of my address there was 6 from £500 for a 3.0 V6 on an 88 plate to £2000 for a 3.2 V6 auto on a 95 plate.

Parkers is a reasonable guide for prices.

It all depends on how desirable the car is, a friend of mine recently spent close on £5000 and an H reg Fiesta RS Turbo (one owner, sensible tune, mint original exterior) and to me it was money well spent.

1200 for the honda is a bit tooo much though.

So what's my E reg VW Sciroco worth? Less than 50,000 on the clock and has used less than a litre of oil in 3 years(c15000 miles).
