Not really Jeepster. I got an AB for 35 quid from Trevor and immediately removed the backlash mechanism. Now I basically have a 5601 in a nice metallic blue and with the help of some GT85 lube, it casts like a bullet.

I'm happy with the reel and the price.

Trevs an okay bloke of the highest order. The gear that he offers is excellent, and his prices, well, excellent!

 

Re the Six Shooter rods, in my opinion a horrible handle but a good blank, nice progressive action, just as I like 'em.

 

I lengthened the handle of one so it came down to my elbow and it made it into an excellent rod. I just happen to think that the blank is too powerful for the existing handle.

 

Matthew, how on earth did you manage to break the rod, for heavens sakes!? They are nigh on indestructable, or I thought they were!!
