King of the Road

Now I've retired, when I want to go fishing, I increasingly have had to fight with Brenda over use of the car :(

So, I went out and bought a luggage trailer for my bicycle today.

It's great just how much road room passing cars give you when you're towing!

I think I might leave it on all of the time now, it hardly weighs anything empty. :)

I have an home made one.

Needs adapting to fit what ever push bike you have due to my mate breaking the towing bit off but it's up for grabs if anyone wants it.

I can't tow a trailer on the bike any more.

This is it, all loaded with my mullet gear, ready to go (I use telescopic rods and a collapsible plastic bucket for bread mash)

The one problem that I have is that because the sides aren't rigid, gear pushing out can make the fabric side rub against the wheel.

I think that I can solve that in a number of ways.

A mate of mine prefers an enclosed trailer that can have the contents locked inside. Better for popping in and out of shops, but I will probably just use this for fishing.

I prefer being able to load it with bits poking out and higher than the sides.

Mine has 3 ply sides and a tarp top just like the real thing and it's free to the first one who wants it.

It's not junk by the way and is in very good nik.

I'll post a picture if any one is interested.
