Red kite is extremely easy to identify from the other species mentioned as it has a distinctively forked tail.

I'd guess that it was a Peregrine.

Not far from the river Yare. :)

When you say the wingspan was 1meter, were the wing tips narrow or rounded? That will help Identify the bird

I think they were sort of rounded  but also pointy   rounded tips with pointy feathers

I have been going back to the spot for the last few days, camera in hand but nothing :( .

I really hope i can get a pic because this has started to bug me.

Thanx for all the replys people.

P.S... ferrett, can you post a bigger pic next time :D

I buggered up, loaded it straight from the camera before editing it.

I'm sure when Newt wakes up he'll play with it. :)

Sounds like the Goshawk.

P.S. Ferret, thats a cock sparrowhawk in the photo, not a goshawk, a goshawk is about 5 times the size :D:D:D

PPS. Probably just as well! Imagine the size of the Photo if it was 5 times bigger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
