Some pillock posted me a couple of leaflets today. No covering letter. Nothing. One was a PETA 'Fishing Hurts' one, the other a Captive Animals' Protection Society about circus animals (wtf?!!).

 

Like, I'm going to open that, have a revelation and stop fishing.

 

Actually, I'm going to dedicate the next cod I knock on the head to Mr. A N. Onymous. The next one will be for Billy Smart.

"Fishing Hurts"? Too bloomin right it does! My left elbow is killing me after a session netting loads of pastie carp!

 

Anyway I know some commercials ain't to fussy about what they put in but whose been stocking with Circus Animals then? Love to know so me Dales and Vagabond can add Tigers,Elephants and monkies to our species list..................................................

 

On the subject of PETA I wouldn't mind taking that Chrissie Hind fishing for a weekend! after all she is special,oh so special................

 

Ah well good to know that angling's enemies (PETA) are just as incompetent as angling's "saviours" (AT)! :rolleyes:

Almost caught a monkey last year while visiting the Batu Caves in Malayasia. The place is crawling with them. I had a take on a camera bag which among other things contained monkey nuts. A top bait for most monkey species. Managed to haul the little blighter in and keep my bag.

 

However I am not sure under the rules of sport fishing is a take on a camera bag a legitimate method, or must they be landed on hook, rod and reel.

 

 

Monkey fishing, I bet that would get PETA members a little hot under the collar.

I'm really worried now, seriously.

 

I'm not worried about the fact that some random stranger is sending me things.

 

The fact that it had a local postmark on doesn't concern me, either.

 

No, what's got me sweating is the fact that my address was not only written on an Oxfam label, but that label was stuck on a Viva SAE. I looked up Viva in Bristol and they are some veggie lot.

 

Is it possible that I've caught something nasty? I've already noticed that I start to get twitchy when I walk past the soap and my hair has grown three inches already today.

 

Has anyone got a home-made multi-coloured knitted jumper they could lend me, please? I just want to pop down the shop to buy The Guardian.
