Arthur Cove RIP

The fly fishing legend Arthur Cove passed away on the 18th of Dec. after a long illness.

Arthur was famous for the Cove Pheasant Tail nymph and fishing long leaders amongst other things.

He wrote a book called "My way with Trout", if you can get a copy it's well worth the read.

He was 79.

RIP Arthur!!

Yes a splendid book, a man who understood reservoir trout as few others do. Never met him, but respected his work. RIP

Coves PT is my favourite fly. A modern fly fishing legend.

Oddly - I was only thinking recently that he must be old, I was thinking about the book when browsing my bookshelves and recalled a photo of him with Montgomery in the book "My way with Trout".

RIP Arthur.

Lovely man :) I was lucky enough to have fished with Arthur a few times, and remember with great affection how he let me fish for Salmon on his beat on the Wye....free of charge for a whole season :)

"We met for a chat" ...........we used to meet in the office of Angling magazine once a month and chat about trout fishing (and a few other bits and pieces) while Brian recorded us, he then turned it into an article or two.

Proud and priveledged to have known you Arthur, rest in peace.
