I see that the Barbel forum (BFW) has become a pay to enter forum. Various ways to pay, and always using your real name.

 

I have been (was) a member for several years, but will not be signing up, even though it is only £3 being asked for...to be used for "a charity of BFW's choice"

 

Now I know that very few....very very few in fact....contribute to AN, so how many would there be if payment were compulsory?

 

From what little I know, I suspect that a good site, with lots of veiwers (which means lots of posters) can become almost self sufficient, or even make a few bob. But if the numbers were to dwindle to a few hundred (if that) then would there be any advertising revenue worth having?

 

Seems from the postings on there before the change in rules, that it is being done to stop dissent and personal insults and disagreements!!!!!!!!!!!!!! heaven forbid that happens on AN, life would be very boring.

Den I for one have and will continue to HELP out where I can and indeed am on record for this! I do NOT support any other sites at present simply because despite all my best efforts some people seemingly do NOT need any help!! At least heer you FEEL as if your efforts are appreciated! (Even when some bugger has a dig at you :) )

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

i have contributed to AN in the past but find it difficult to make sure funds are present when paypal requests it quarterly ,if Elton provided an annual method (and i'v asked if he would) i would have no problem doing a one off anual payment (not auto payment though) to ensure Elton isnt funding it all out of his pocket.

not sure a mandatory fee would stop anything infact the fee payer may think he/she has paid to exercise their thoughts and get their monies worth.

i also made sure when i did contribute (i'l admit it wasnt for long) my sig didnt reflect i did to ensure members were not thinking i was flagrantly rule bending because ELton "owed" me .He does not and i'm in no-ones pocket either :D

How about a donate button Elton. :) Now and again me paypal is in credit. :D

 

I hate subscriptions, pay per veiw etc, etc.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.


New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

the option is in "my controls" ;) even if your paypal account is empty paypal will just use your bank account ,unfortunately this is what i fear the most as my account is mostly empty most of the time ,a draw on that will be big problems

All i see Chesters is purchace subscriptions, am i missing something? as a one off? As and when?
