I know Charlie Clover comes in for stick, but I tell you something....

 

That is, without question, the most balanced and informative article on the true plight of the eel that I have seen.

 

 

Some folk accuse him of being just another eco warrior. I beg to differ. He is without question very conservation minded, but he's also a mad keen angler, and that makes a hell of a big difference!

Whats "balanced" about a page long article that states the causes of the Eels decline are unknown, states this decline is happening the world over yet gives a line to the possibility it might be due to oceanograhic changes..

 

Rest of the article is essentially about putting the boot into the poor sods you can actually get a hold of to blame; lets have a riot and beat up a local commercial, lets have a lawyers love-in and create another ton of useless legislation to pander to the interests of the real endangered species ..

The big picture is that there are many threats that need to be reduced if the eel is to survive in the modern world of hydro schemes, flood defences and drained wetlands. Uniquely for the eel, fishing is just one of them.

 

Being a bit old, I found this very disturbing.

 

No idea what this big "big picture" is.

 

I guess my betters must know though.. not.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Yup, too little too late, for more than ten years the paper shufflers have been looking at this issue, it's a massive indictment of the failed system to protect or do something for a stock that again all knew about a long long time ago. In the mean time the AT, the eel huggers and the E A have all been complicit in agreeing to worthless legislation against the anglers with regards to taking some home that as agreed by all will not make any difference to the stock. So all the men in suits and the huggers, AT and the E A, defra and the EU aught to hang their heads in dam right shame, an abject failure by all. Disgusting. Load of crap.
