hey, does any1 know of a decent bait that you can catch big carp on which is cheap, simple and a bait your allowed to use on waters with banned baits such as boilles and stuff like that ? i would really appreciate your help... thanks a lot :rolleyes::D:):lol:;):huh:

Yes Beetles used as a floating bait also work for trout/jack pike /and roach

Well, a hookfull is cheap enough. :D

 

I would say maize for a cheap and very successful bait which also has the benefit of being small-fry proof.

Pellets are good and you get a good amount for a small price.

 

Corn, maize, maggots and the humble worm all work well.

 

Bread can also work well but does need alot of refreshing of your bait as it has a habit of been pecked by smaller fish or coming of the hook.

 

But if I could have only one bait it would be pellets and you can all ways save what ever you don't use for another session.

It depends on exactly what is banned, but I would get a big sack of uncooked hemp (very cheap) and a sack of uncooked maize or tins of cheap sweetcorn. Boil up the hemp (and maize if you get it) yourself as and when you need it.

 

I used to catch a lot of carp with the hemp/corn combo, and it seems to gone out of fashion again now - the perfect time to give it a go :) If there's space where you fish, a good way to fish with it is to bait up marginal spots where you've either seen carp move through or you think look good with a big handful of hemp and a dozen grains of corn/maize, leave them to settle, and fish them very quietly in rotation - exactly like chub fishing.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
