Have never owned a bed chair in 68 years of fishing. :)

 

 

I'd never had one and finally got one last year after sleeping on the floor or sat in a chair when fishing for several days finally got to much....aching bones and all that :huh:

If I am "static" fishing I take a cheap light aluminium garden chair - otherwise when roving, pausing to fish, then moving on, I sit on my unhooking mat until it is needed for its primary purpose.

 

....and yes, I am sorry about all those tackle manufacturers and dealers having a hard time <_<

 

 

68 years ago the bed chair, a 4 legged version available only, was commonly known as the "commode" :D

Well I have a JRC bedchair the 6 leg version but its not the one above, very comfy and I prefer 6 legs to 4 as they are more stable and less inclinded to tip when you sit on them in the wrong place for weight distribution

 

My main gripe about bedchairs is the size & weight. Are the 2 extra legs really worth it? I think the JRC is rated at 22 stone....seriously how many anglers need a monstrosity like that? Also my JRC is not a true bed*chair* as it's not much use to sit on with the bottom folded up - not sure if others are any better but surely that would be incredibly useful.
