Read that one Leon, but I was hoping there might be something a wee bit more than one persons view, given thats its apparently a serious AT objective?

No discussion about displacement of effort then? nothing about it being a driver to bigger boats that can survive the weather all year 1 mile out? No implications for anglers when small harbours are shut down because the bigger boats may need to move harbours?

Sorry, slightly off topic, but just to show how realistsic the AT's objectives are; according the the AT strategy another serious objective is to address aggregate dredging and the effect it might have on angling. If they manage to get this stopped, http://www.yellowad.co.uk/tn/news.cfm?id=6...redging%20works ,I'll become a life member!

I think my money's pretty safe, though. Don't you?

DRUNK DRIVERS WRECK LIVES.

Don't drink and drive.

Its an interesting document and may sound wonderful to some, however an awful lot of historical fishing has gone on over the centuries which I guess will lead to a good fight!! I sometimes think that the AT seem to forget that fish have fins and can swim around our seas, because as we regularly discuss on here an awful lot of what is happening to fish well off-shore affects ther presence and sizes available to us on the beach. I have done a lot of netting on the beach over the years to catch a few cod for the pot or dover soles. It is damned hard work and not very productive, quite good fun as a change from watching a rod tip, and hardly justifies the cost of a net. However I would not like to have my right to do that taken away as a part timer using a net a dozen times a year has no significant impact on stocks.

And that is the truth, unlike what is perseived by most anglers .

I fish to live and live to fish.
