Great pics it definitely looks like a place worth visiting. Its a shame that they seem to operate the river close season on it as it looks such a great place to try for an early Tench.

I'd be up for another visit to see if I could beat my 3lb 2oz perch PB that I got there last time (on lob of course!).

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Great pics Steve, shame you blanked but the experience must have been amazing. A fish in there sounds like a great idea, i remember rowing on one of the lakes there years ago but they don't allow that now and I don't think it's the lake you can fish from.

We were mulling over whether it would be a good venue for a fish-in. There are about 15 punts available and the lake is huge so there would be plenty of room for a full compliment of 30 AN'ers. If the fishing was quiet we could always have a couple of competitions, most accurate torpedo, most agressive boarding party..that sort of stuff.

 

Thanks to Steve for a day of jovial banter and rowing all day, if I'd been rowing we'd still be there.

 

 

I've been thinking about that as well - is it a good place for tench?

 

Count me in. I'm not entering the best centrepin competition though if Rusty is there.

As far as i'm aware it's got a very good reputation for Tench with good numbers and some big ones too. However as you've probably gathered it's a very big lake and finding them can be another problem!

Good to see that you've fixed the PC Mike, yes it's a good place for Tench.

 

Now down to business, do you still want the FC reel? Others are interested, the Bewick's gone and the Searcher's doing well on e-bay so I'm keen to keep the sales going. No probs if you don't want it.
