hi all you out there. i need sum help i need to buy sum fly gear for carp fishing such as rods , line , flys,n reals.their ar sum big fish up to 50lb so it needs to be strong.thiss is a new way of carping for me so all tips wellcom.

A kit like this would be ideal.

I would think that they may be best advised to take a few casting lessons first to see if they can get on with it before they splash out on the kit. A visit to their local Trout fishery would be the best way for them to do this.

9 or 10wt rod with a fighting butt. Anything smaller/lighter will kill a big carp of 20+lbs before it plays it out, and he'll need two hundred yards of backing minimum.

I think he said carp, not tuna.

My advice would be to forget all this nonsense about "50 pounders" and fish a water with a good head of 5-10 pound fish. An 8 weight setup will handle these easily.
