I take it this fella doesnt have a wife like many other anglers wives then . I dont think my fiance would be on board with that one!

 

Angler: Just going to go and spend 50k hunting fish dear.

Wife: Oh ok. Will you be back for tea?

Some of the comments are quite amusing.......

 

CUE the predictable squeals from the tree huggers and yoghurt knitters................fish are food.

Some were probally put back, but im sure some were eaten.

...and BTW don't believe what you read in the Sun. They published (without consulting me) an inaccurate account and lifted pictures from the feature in Anglers' Mail (that WAS accurate - give AM their due)

 

As I said at the time of the AM feature, there are a number of anglers with a bigger lifelist than me (Steve Wozniak had over 660 at the time, and had done an article in th IGFA magazine about it)

 

I didn't get seriously into a world list until I retired in 1999. Pursuing my career and keeping my family fed were more important activities than globetrotting after new species, fascinating though that is. If I had won the football pools back in the 1950s it would have been a different story!
