I saw in this months bait tips part of improve your coarse fishing it had all about punched peperami, ive always wanted to use peperami as a hookbait, especially in winter, but never have because i rarely hair rig and you really should hair rig it because its too hard to pull through on the strike. But punched peperami is so simple, cant believe ive never thought of it before, a few pieces on a size 12 with a piece of sweetcorn for attraction i think has quite a bit of potential in my opinion, has anybody used peperami like this, or got any thoughts on it?? Sounds a great idea! Thanks for posting it. Might give it a go next time I'm out, will let you know how I get on. It's been a while since I had a punch though, so I may have to try whittling a pellet shaped piece with my penknife. Should do the job!

Sounds interesting, I always fish it hair rigged and peel the skin off first.

Was fishing Felthorpe lakes and my mate broke a chunk off saying try it. Sod that, it got nommed as soon as I got to my swim. However he didn't know so I hatched a cunning plan...

I carry on using luncheon meat (which I generously shared with the fish) and mate comes over.

"Any luck?"

"Yeah, its brilliant" I say "Got any more?"

Mate brings me 2 sticks.

Lol thats good thinking. I cant fish with it either. Its far too good for that. One of my favourite riverbank snacks. The barbel will never get hold of my peperami.

lol, the taste of tinned sweetcorn still takes me back to sitting by the park pond when I was 9. Lunch never really came into my preparations back then!

I use pepperami on a few lakes that I fish and it's a pretty good bait I've found. I do have the same problem though, I end up buying multi-packs because I eat half of it :D
