13 Foot rod for trotting?

Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a good 13 foot rod for trotting on the river? There's so damn many It's impossible to sort between them. Does anybody have any experience of using a rod that they really enjoyed and found to be light and crisp in action? I should also mention that it needs to be a reasonable price.

Thanks

Rik

Thanks rod. Any ideas where this can be obtained from? I have had a quick search on ebay and google but not a lot showed up and those that did were 49.99.

I picked mine up from Lathams...maybe give google a go, My fishing mate Clive has now had Carp to over 10lb on one and we have spent several days trotting Roach, Chub and large Perch with the rod I think its one of the finest rods available under £100 today. I will have a little look round for you. The enticer by abu is also a good rod I just prefer the cheaper transmitter.

Lathams have got a 12' so It depends on the venue. They also do their own 12' fibreglass and a 13' and 14' in carbon I've tried them all lack crispness but still good rods.

For a lot more money the Drennan 14' match pro at £129.99 takes some beating

Shakespeare Mach 3 13" Match.

The Lathams rods are

10' fibreglass £8.00

12' Fibreglass £10.00

13' fibreglass £12.00

13' carbon £20.00

14' carbon £25.00

and they all come with a 3 year guarantee...we could not break them when we tested them, although we did not go silly with lines all up to 5lb breaking strain limit.

I have this one its spliced tipped ,& has a short handle ,its proved a excellent rod wether its using a centrepin or closed faced reels ,and has plenty of power in reserve for the odd bonus fish .its been the best carbon rod i've had for years .
