Hiya,

A boating pond in the middle of Glasgow, next to a big psychiatric hospital... only 2 foot deep, but still managed perch to 1lb and a 17lb pike .. didn't half get some strange looks though ;-)

Dragonbat:

What is the most famous / unusual place you have ever fished and caught.

  :D

Hiya Dragonbat, the most famous place that I have fished is Blenhiem Palace. The birth place of Sir Winston Churchill.

Eight of us went and between us we caught(if memory serves me well,`coz it`s 10 years or more ago)90 fish.I believe that I caught the least, and the smallest fish,a miserly 3, a diddy perch, a micro roach, &a minute bream.

But I enjoyed myself some rotten.

Going fishing is the thing, catching fish is a bonus.

The middle of a lake (Worsley, Manchester)

I was in the scouts doing a sponsored raftsit. The raft was stationary in the middle of the lake and we had to stay on it for 66 hours.

I only caught a few small roach/perch but we did raise £2000 for Warrington Hospitals Baby Unit.

Moving the thread to the Coarse section. More folks will see it there.

I have fished off the Antipodes Islands (and I mean the REAL Antipodes Islands - not Kiwi or Oz) in the Southern Ocean.

Caught an Orange-throat Notothen about 3lb or so on a cooked prawn (saved from lunch) - hard fighting all the way up from 300 ft - as they have no swim-bladder to distend and cripple them.

Does anyone want to see its picture? :o

The most unusual , nope, the most embarrassing now theres a place .I once fished a farm pond for 2 weeks of and on,i had drowned about 6 pints of maggots thrown in 3 or 4 bags of ground bait and sat there frezing my gonads off.I went back when the weather started to heat up same thing drowned maggots etc, caught nothing.

The moral of this story !!!!!!!!! Dont belive everything you here from farmers or other fishermen.THERE WERE NO EFFIN FISH IN THE POND.

I felt a right plonker
