Monk Lake Link

I just clicked on the Monk Lake Link.

What a dreadful turn of events for the people who’s living depended on this lake. I only hope that the farmer can be persuaded that we are not all morons. The situation is beyond words.

My sentiments exactly,

The lads down there have put in a hell of a lot of hard work over the winter, dropping the levels and clearing/improving the lakes ,as well as an extensive restocking, only to have it all undone by some mindless moron.

Trouble is,can you blame the farmer?

Peter.

Happiness is a rod in your hand.

I have spoken to Chris a number of times in the past. He has contributed to this site, both in writing and in advertising.

I'd like to echo his 'thanks' to the guy who just cost him his livelihood

I suppose that it too much to expect that this "angler" has the mentality to read this web site. And again, I suppose that it would be too much to expect that if this person did he would feel inclined to make amends with the farmer.

In the possible absence of this, I don’t think we should apologise for this persons actions as anglers to the farmer but rather as human beings who can sympathise with what he must have felt at being threatened.

I for one knows how this feels like, after a nasty experience with some one breaking in to my car on my property, and it makes you feel very sick for along while. I only hope that he feels inclined to give the angling community a second chance. I wish him well, and all so Chris and all who have been affected.

Chris has asked people not to contact him for the moment as he's spending as much time as possible trying to resolve the situation.

It's terrible that one idiot ruins it for everyone. As a fishery manager myself my heart really goes out to Chris. Luckilly I don't make a living from Wingham, but I'd still be devastated to lose it after so much work.
