Species caught in 2016: Alder, Blackthorn, Common Ash, Crab Apple, Left Earlobe, Pedunculate Oak, Rock Whitebeam, Scots Pine, Smooth-leaved Elm, Swan, Wayfaring tree.

Species caught in 2015: Ash, Bird Cherry, Black-Headed Gull, Common Hazel, Common Whitebeam, Elder, Field Maple, Gorse, Puma, Sessile Oak, White Willow.

Species caught in 2014: Big Angry Man's Ear, Blackthorn, Common Ash, Common Whitebeam, Downy Birch, European Beech, European Holly, Hawthorn, Hazel, Scots Pine, Wych Elm.
Species caught in 2013: Beech, Elder, Hawthorn, Oak, Right Earlobe, Scots Pine.

Crayfish have been discussed here before however in brief either use very hard baits (boilies or tigers) or use netting / bait cages. I prefer hardenend hookbaits made with nutrabaits granite mix as that lasts a long time and baits still look the same. Hooklengths can get chewed off by the crays so beware - you can use mono/amnesia or something like mantis or you may find your ordinary hooklengths are OK but just watch out.

Signal Crayfish in the Kennet is one of the reasons I've switched to pellet for most of my barbel fishing - resist their attentions much better. However if you've got crays around - its unlikely the barbel are in residence - they're a major food source..... :D
