It seemed to. But there again it might have been me resting. However the noise it made in the crisp packet would have been loud enough to wake the dead! :)

two in the loft ,traps reset and bodies chucked in the field for scavengers

Not having time to process them immediately, I got this year's apple harvest into cardboard boxes and put them into the shed. The plan was to juice them and make cider. We were away for a week and then busy. First thing I noticed was one of the cats lurking outside the shed. I've seen her do this before, when we had rats in the compost heap, and my heart sank. Checked the boxes, and they're all ruined, chewed to pulp and covered in rat crap :(
