One of Elton's sponsors is currently flogging Fenwick Iron Tread at very reasonable prices.

It's been arround for a while (as has Power Pro) but I've never tried it.

Does anyone have any experience of this line ? Specifically, is it any good ?

Certainly has been around for some time! Iron Thread was one of the first braids I looked at.This was in the early 90's whilst visiting Cabelas. Sadly I cant help you mate re what its like as Ive never fished with it.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I've never used it, prefering to stick to the devils (powerpro and spiderwire)that I know.

But I've never heard a bad word said about it and dodgy braid never gets kept a secret for too long on the pike, muskie and bass forums. As it's been around for so long, I suspect that its diameter is going to be a shade on the high side ...like Fireline. But thats not necessarily a bad thing.

I've used it for spinning and deadbaiting for Pike. Can't say its the best, but never had any problems either, and very good value.

I'm pretty certain Mark Houghton uses it for Pike fishing and I don't get the impression that Mark would leave something like line to chance.
