This is my Intrepid ROLA Is it a real Intrepid, as the name is on a sticky label

The Rola was my first decent reel, which I bought after Dick Walker recommended models with roller bailarms, which I gather the Intrepid people invented. This and the Prince Regent I think were the cheapest that had this feature. Can anyone remember? The Rola was about £2 but I swapped it for a couple of telescope eyepieces.

the rola is the little brother of the diplomat (in spool sizes) a cheaper version was the fisher seven identical but with a bent steel 1 piece bailarm ( lots of the intrepids were just rebadged old reels (hence their decline)

the rola was £2/0/5 two pounds 0 shillings and 5d for our younger members , it was discontinued in 1969

the prince regent was introduced in 1969 in 1972 it was £2/2/0 in 1979 it was £5.75p it went in 1980

as you know i have a thing about intrepids and i am always after information about them ( colours , mods , sales blurb etc) if you have a box would it be possible to scan (at 100%) all the faces of the box and e`mail them to me, i can then reconstruct a

facsimile in card for reference , the plastic older boxes just a pic of the lid with the name would be fine :)

for those with an intrest in older english fixed spools there is a small collection of intrepids here : http://anglersnet.co.uk/collectors/
