Paul - can't help with the catfood thing but can and do say Welcome to you.

coshida cat food is exceptional

Yep! The fish in my ponds love it, but they're even more crazy for corned beef. Keep it cool so that it stays on the hook.

I've never read any concern about the use of cat food. It seems to go off in a matter of hours, and become quite incredibly foul smelling. I would think that widespread use on any small water could cause serious problems very quickly, especially at this time of year.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

Catfood stinks! Always have a cuppa and a sandwich before you start handling it, 'cos you won't fancy one once you've started. The bait is VERY EFFECTIVE though. It's main advantage apart from the smell is it's softness.

You miss far fewer bites than using a harder bait like lunceon meat or garlic sausage. A good hook is the Maver Eagle barbless as big as your hookbait will allow. I'm talking polefishing here.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee older I get the better I was.

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow - creature, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
