barbel flavours

A few years ago I used cockles heavily for a whole season on the River Kennet (I still use them a LOT for tench). During that time I caught LOADS of chub with them, a few nice perch, and to this day my PB Brown Trout (4lb 2oz), fell to them. Of barbel not ONE !!!

Cockles on the Kennet only seem to produce crayfish!

Prawns will catch chub and barbel but need to be coloured with food dye as I think the bright colour can alarm the fish (or am I being oversensitive myself?)

As Paul suggested B.F.W can be very good.
