Wakefield is where I'm at Carpbob3.

Mid-way between captital of the Angling Universe (Barnsley) and Home of some of the finest anglers I ever met (Leeds).

I remember reading an article by Dennis Lemon in the old Sheffield Angling Telegraph 'Why Leeds leads'. What an epitaph that was! One angler I had the greatest respect for was Peter Hardcastle.

Who had a terrible accident when his pole touched High voltage cables. Harold Cutts. He could tell a tale. If I wanted to know anything about a Leeds ASA water I used to ask him. He knew every swim like the back of his hand. He knew more about Wakefield's waters than I did.

Welcome aboard. Anything you want to know about my turf, feel free.

Eeeeeeee older I get the better I was.

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow - creature, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

Hi nurse judy

tips for keeping warm  ...... good set of thermals is a must... 2 or three thin layers of clothing on top , wear boots NOT trainers,a brolly for a wind break ( bivvy or shelter is better still). a good quality woolley hat and of course hot drinks (or soups). you could even invest in a charcol hand warmer (most camping shops will have them). one little tip..... short skirts and low cut sleeveless tops not a good idea at this time of year for fishing

CARPBOB3.

Can you supply me any details of the Willows.

I often go to leeds with my missus to visit her friend, and I'm always stuck for something to do, SO if there was a new venue to try then they could go shopping and I could fish

Any info would be much appreciated

cheers
