i have a silstar 17ft rod its very light and thin but its severly over ringed and is a bugger to cast with i rarely use it prefering my 14ft fibreglass one

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

Why not try the Preston Carbon Active 15/17ft float rod, what a cracker, ideal for stick float fishing, after all that is what "long" rods are designed for

Thanks for the replys everyone, my main worry about such a long rod would be that I would'nt be able to fish most of my favourite swims because of overhanging trees and stuff. And netting fish on steep awkward banks too.

I have the Map 18/20 and the Carbonactive 15/17

both fantastic rods plus a shimano 15ft Powerloop .Would not be with out them all handle carp with the Carbonactive taking the edge.

The 18/20 I use on Tatton Mere with the big waggler fishing just over the ledge.

Never used any of the rods on a river. :D
